Wedding dress nightmares!

Jess, 22 December, 2020 at 10:19 Posted on Planning 0 6
Hello! I have booked an appointment for the 21st of January to try on wedding dresses and now I’m that worried they won’t fit in giving myself nightmares! I aim to be down to a size 8-10 by the time I get married but there’s a dress I love in the sample sale that I don’t want to miss out on but I’m currently around a 12 and with it being Christmas I doubt the scales will go down ! I’m really anxious that I’ll go to try one on and it’ll get stuck or won’t fit and I’ll want to die of embarrassment!!

If I were you I’d concentrate on my measurements and the measurements of the dress you want over the supposed size.
    All dresses will fit differently.
Good luck and enjoy your Christmas break

I’m just worried because the ones in hoping to try on are 10-14 and I’ve heard that they run quite a bit smaller than regular sizes ! Can’t find any measurements either but I’m hoping that once I’m there I’ll be fine and even if they don’t all fit or fasten, I get to see them in the flesh and it gives me something to aim for! Thank you , I hope Have a lovely Time ?

Are all the dresses you're going to try on sale dresses? Because if you're just trying on a sample dress, it can be ordered in your size. I tried on several that didn't fit, but only one was so small that it didn't give me any idea of what it would look like in my size - ones that are a couple of sizes too large or small can still give you enough of an idea of how it would look for you to make a judgement.

And bridal boutiques see people of all shapes and sizes - if you go to one where staff imply you should be thinner/smaller, just leave, because that kind of behaviour is totally out of order.

Yeah they’re sale dresses ? I’m planning on slimming down by the day but because I’ve seen a prefect dress in the sample sale I know I’ll be kicking myself if I wait a few months !

If you're only a size or two larger than the dress you like, I really wouldn't worry - you'll still be able to tell if it will suit you or not when it fits properly. Don't set your heart on one dress too much before you've tried it on though - often, what you think will look good doesn't, and it can be discouraging if you've built up too much hope on one dress! Try to keep an open mind as to what might suit you and you might be surprised!

I’m hoping so! I don’t really have my heart set on just one but one caught my eye and then I ended up falling in love with the whole sample sale page ?
