Wedding dress shopping Sheffield

bananacatdance, 5 of April of 2015 at 17:35 Posted on Planning 0 5

Hi,

I used to live in Sheffield - met my fiance there but we have since moved away - and am thinking of going back there to look for my wedding dress as I have some really good close friends up there I'd like to go shopping with.

Does anyone have any recommendations for Sheffield wedding dress shops?

I went into a wedding dress shop with my fiance's mum the other day in Reading (just browsing and both getting a bit giddy with excitement!) but was a bit disappointed that nothing really sprung out at me as being amazing.

There is a thread about this on this forum already but it was from about 4 years ago so wanted to see if anyone had any more up to date advice.

Thanks

There are two great dress shops that I've had good feedback about from my previous brides. Wedding Belles of Otley (also do groom suit hire) and The Wedding Shop at Selby. I think Selby might be closest to you. They do everything from dresses, suits to event decor.

I live in Sheffield and had a good experience dress shopping. I went to blushes on london rd, the woman chose all the dresses for me which I thought was a bit odd by there were some lovely dresses. Lulu Mae in oughtibridge, a really nice experience. Bella brides, Hillsborough, a bit less classy as more budget but actually some beautiful dresses so worth a look. I think they do more plus size as well. Others are Emily bridal and the bridal room on exclesall road, both a little more expensive but lovely. There is one in the city centre I think called the White room or similar? I was out off by their snooty website which says things like 'don't come here if you have a £900 budget, there is no point'.

I also went to a preloved bridal shop in the Peak District called love me again. Really lovely and some real bargains. I would recommend it. All dresses around half original price and perfect condition. I believe there is another preloved place at eckington. Good luck!

I had to made appointments a few weeks in advance for the exclesall rd shops and lulu Mae.

ps I found my dress in the first shop, blushes, a Maggie sottero, but then found it online second hand so bought that one.

Hi, I'm from Sheffield but decided to take a trip out to near York to find a dress, because it was quite hard to find information about the Sheffield wedding boutiques.

My friend bought her dress from Blushes though and said she had a nice experience there.. I know a couple of shops have closed down in Sheffield recently too? Xx

There's also Happily Ever After Bridal in Doncaster. They sell brand new dresses but also specialise in ex-sample and preloved dresses. Worth a visit. Laura is lovely and you'll certainly get a warm welcome.
