I went wedding dress shopping in October for a June wedding and the lady in the shop told me then that I would need to make up my mind quickly if I wanted a wide choice and didn't want to have to pay rush order fees. So I would say you have at least got 4-5 months before you start panicking. However, it might be worth starting to dress shop now, just to get an idea of what you like - and don't stress about it. People put so much pressure on themselves to find 'the dress', but just keep reminding yourself that although it is a special dress it is still just a dress that you will be wearing for one day - it's really not worth losing sleep over!

For context I'm on the smaller side of a UK 14 (can squeeze into a 12 occasionally) and my dress is a size 18. I'm also planning to lose another 2 stone before my wedding in September and they said that would be absolutely fine for alterations. I honestly think the best thing is to find a dress you feel beautiful in and f**k the size cause it's not a reflection of a) how you look or b) all the hard work you've already put in! And just remember your fiancé loves you just the way you are - how lucky are we! x
