Wedding dresses with a train that doesn't hook up .....

kentishbride, 8 February, 2009 at 08:29 Posted on Planning 0 5

Did anyone find this a problem when it came to dancing at your evening reception?

The dress i have fallen in love with has a train which isnt massive but i am just worried that it may get in the way. There isnt an option to have a hook or wrist loop added as it is a design that wouldnt allow it i dont think - how did you all get around this? Was it all ok or did you have massive footprints and tears by the end of the evening? x

ETA this is a link to the dress

Hey my dress had a similar size of train and a loop of material same colour as the dress attached to the underside of the train that i used to hold it up for my first dance the rest of the time i just walked with it out behind me just had to be careful with hotel doors and peeps walking behind me could you not get a dressmaker to do something like that other than that its either pick it up and pop over your arm or kick it outta the way...hth

I got a seamstress to add a Bustle Loop on for me, it only cost a couple of quid. It's a tiny loop on the seam at the back half way down the skirt bit and it hooks up to my bottom button.

I'm getting a bustle loop added to my dress as well, the train is about the same length as yours so shouldn't be any hassles for your dress maker ?

I wore a dress for a modeling shoot with a bigger train and similar style with the pin tucks and it had a loop inside. It was from a bridal shop so came with the loop so I'm sure your dress could have a loop added for sure and I don't think a bustle would be a problem either.

Have a look at this to see the dress http://breathlessbynmp.co.uk/Lyndsey/index.html. The dress was really full and the loop was great for walking around.
