Wedding entertainment

Jaison, 20 November, 2023 at 18:46 Posted on Planning 1 3
First time posting here but of a long post, and this is so far from tradition, so my fiancée actually proposed to me, so me the groom is currently planning out wedding, I’m trying so hard I feel like I’m on an episode of don’t tell the bride ahahah, anyway. My fiancée dream car is so expensive, and so is her dress, so I’ve been trying to cut cost in other places to make sure she gets them. Due to. Being let down by 2 DJs But I’ve decided to cut out the Dj all together and do it myself, get some disco balls / strobe lights, decorations and a couple of decent Bluetooth speakers and I have an iPod that I can put a wedding music playlist on. I guess my question is do you think this is a good idea or do you think I’m being to stingy I would much rather over spend on her dress/suits and her dream car then on entertainment cause all that matters to me is that I’m marrying the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with! My wife to be is also keen on this idea. Any opinions either good or bad are very appreciated please be honest.

We had our wedding in the summer. Similar to you, we splurged on some aspects and tried to save on others. I made several playlists of Spotify, which can then be accessed by anyone’s phone (with my log in details). We just plugged it in and left it running. I had a playlist for eating, another for early evening and then another for when everyone was up and dancing. Spotify has lots of suggested playlists that you can edit too. It was fine, didn’t make a difference that we didn’t have a dj so if this isn’t a massive part for you both and other things are more important, then I’d definitely go for it.

Yeah I think that’s what we were planning on doing.

It's entirely up to the two of you. Have you worked out a budget yet? I really recommend it - you can cut in some areas so that you can splurge in others, but having an overall total spend in mind helps you know when and where you need to cut corners.
