Wedding favour/shell place names

We are using pebbles, we are painting them in exterior paint in our colours then using silver pen to write the names and then clear varnish over the top. Not sure the sticky would work unless there is a flat part of the shell as it may lift and if you did do it i would say it would need to be done the day before or the morning of to avoid it lifting. What about using them as table decorations, scatter them on the table and maybe then have pebbles from the beach for the names, or drift wood? It took us a few trips to collect 50 pebbles that were flat and long enough for the names but was worth it

Pebbles might be easier.

You can also get little wire place-name holders - maybe you could super-glue a shell to the base of one and have the name card in a slot on top? Something like this, although there are loads of different options out there. Not knowing what shape shells you are wanting to use, it's difficult to know if that would work.

Or, if you know someone with good script writing, simply write the name on the shell in metallic pen or sharpie.
