Wedding guest outfit help!

mel t 2b, 11 November, 2012 at 22:58 Posted on Planning 0 6

Hi Ladies,

I am going to a wedding next March and as I like dresses that cover my arms, I bought one now. (It looks so much better in the flesh than the pic below). I just wanted some advice on accessories. I know the rule of thumb is with a nude dress, add some bright shoes, but as the lace in the dress has silver running through it I am limited to silver or nude shoes.

Heres the dress:

Possible bags:

Nude court shoes:

and possibly a silver or nude fascinator? I like the idea of a silver beaded vintage style clutch bag (another reason for buying now with all the christmas sparkle) but just don't know what to do about shoes/fascinator colour? I have dark chocolate brown hair.

Hope you can help!

Thanks!
Mel x

I like the dress & both of the the bags.

I do wonder though if your accessories are either nude or silver, your overall look will be rather pale & 'samey' in colour? I know silver isnt really pale, but you dont have any colour in the outfit at all. I too have dark hair, & would include a colour in the scheme.

I'm not the best at matching colourings, but I'd have accessories in either red or blue or anything that goes with silver. I look washed out with pastels, but if they suit you, what about dusty pink accesories?

Thanks girls! have been looking on google for ideas on whether to go nude shoes as well! some say yes, others no, I think the no's are for a plain nude dress...mine is more of a colour than nude, plus it has the silver running through it and with a my hair and makeup done, think it will brighten it up! which bag would you go for? I may buy both and try with dress at home. x

I think it would look really striking with black tights and some lovely black high heels. You could then have a bag in black with silver metal on it and some black and silver based jewlery, topped with maybe a black fascinator?

Love the dress! I'd wear it with nude shoes I reckon! I know some people say no but it does depend on the person... nude suits me and like you said, it's not a plain nude dress, so I think this would look lovely. Go for plain shoes and let the gorgeous dress do the talking! xx

    Hi,

Have a look at my new site as I have several fascinators which might suit your outfit. If you sent for one and it was not right You can always send it back. You could email me the details as to what you want and I can see what i have. I can get other colours in many styles too.
