Wedding Ideas Please! ?

Nepoly, 2 of August of 2020 at 00:29 Posted on Planning 2 10

Hi! ?

We are currently planning our wedding for next July. We want a garden outdoorsy type of wedding which is quite informal! So far we have booked the church, the reception venue (which is a beautiful secret garden venue in our village) and the Gin Trailer (we know the priorities ?)!
We are now looking at the rest of the day and thought I’d seek advice from the experts please! Do you have any recommendations for the following pretty please...?
1. Wedding Breakfast? (We’re not having a sit down meal.... so thinking BBQ? Sharing Platters? Canapés? That type of thing... but as wedding is at 12.30, we will need to feed our guests twice in the day..)
2. Music..? Any inspiration on what works well??
3. Entertainment..? Family friendly fun..?! What about lawn games? Which are most popular?4. Something different that you arranged that made your wedding unforgettable? Thanks in advance!!

Just been looking through the wedding magicians available for next year. Martin is a magician in London and covers most of the South East - he's got tons of experience and is sure to keep guests of all ages entertained as he mixes amongst them performing close-up magic .

I went to an informal wedding once where the breakfast was picnic hampers. There was a hamper for each group of 6-8 I think, each one with a blanket, drinks and food. It worked really well.

Duncan William is also fantastic Magician in London . We had him at our wedding before Coronavirus - we were lucky in that respect. You can check his video out on his website too.

We were originally going to have a picnic for ours, lawn games etc, there are loads of cute ideas on Pinterest.

We will hopefully still stick with that plan in 2022 when we have our wedding reception ?

You neve said where your wedding was taking place?

We got had a Magician called Roger back in 2018 for our wedding in the New Forest.

He is the best Magician in Hampshire - I am sure he travels.

I went to an outdoor wedding which sounds like yours. It was amazing.
They had a hog roast and BBQ and in the evening a pizza van was there making fresh pizzas for everyone.
They also had an ice cream van parked up and he also did slush cocktails (not that I remember too much of those 😂)
They had giant jenga, hoop toss and a bouncy castle too. In the evening they had fire pits with blankets etc.
We also camped on the site in teepees which were set up for us. It was like a festival. So much fun.

    That's sound amazing!
We are planning to get married next year and wanted to rent a house and have the family sleeping over as they will flying from Spain.

The thing is that I would like to do a bbq with no more than 30 people in the garden but I can't find a house that allow me to do it!
    Any suggestions?

I’m sure there’s a website that specialises in houses like this. I can’t think what’s it called though. I looked at one for a family reunion before covid hit.
You can rent the whole house and gardens and they could sleep over 10 people. Some had hot tubs, pool tables etc.
If you type in google rent cottage/villa/ holiday home uk it might come up. I’ll have a look for you.
    Also maybe an air B&B?

Thanks Emma! I already tried in www.partyhouses but nothing worth it came out. Most of them were houses that allow hen parties and there're quite dodgy for a wedding. Also my budget is not huge. Although I don't need a palace! Just a cute house with a garden.

I found one in Airbnb that doesn't allow events/parties, (like most of them). After explaining them my idea they gave me the ok but I can't visit the house before the date and there are things I would need to sort out... I mean I am not sure if it's a good idea take the risk.

We've got wedding themed mini golf at ours! My fiance is a golf pro so it's a fun nod to him but who doesn't love mini golf?!?!
