Yeah im loving the idea of having xmas over there im a big kid at heart but OH thinks it'll over shadow our wedding! im having a cloak made too what colour are you going for? so anything thermal is a good idea then stupid question can you stay nice warm and cosy indoors and out? I really what in laws there if I have to buy everything to keep them warm lol! but then again maybe just the 2 of us would be better and have a blessing when we get back for everyone else who knows its getting complicated and I don't want it to be ....... oh where did you get your boots from?

Hi, you don't say which month you plan to get married, we went last January and it's reasonably quiet, few Finns, no Russians just 3 planes from the uk per week (not including the Finn air flights). We are getting married there in just under a year and can't wait, there will be 18 of us including a nearly 3 month old and a yet to be born baby. I wouldn't worry about being in a noisy busy place, unless you are going December/early jan or Finnish holidays

    Hi,

Claire and I are getting married in the Levi ice chapel in the 5th March this year! I have done all the wedding (just like the don't tell the bride kind of thing) weather looks bloody cold but should be great, will keep you posted on the place and how busy it is with places to eat and photos if you like? we are staying at the flying reindeer hotel in levi and our organiser is Lapland weddings. ask for Hugh he is fantastic. we got a group of 14 of is going for £604 each for 7 nights! the wedding package is £1400 (don't go for the gold pack it seems to be a lot more for not much more) the legal side sounds and looks very complex but after doing it myself it was quite easy. if you need any help you can email me directly and I will be only too happy to help.

    Hi

Yes we are getting married in the ice chapel, I had a good idea on the photos, the photographer is very expensive and you only get him or her at the chapel (£750) if you do the usual and get everyone taking photos then set up a dropbox account (its free) and get everyone to upload the photos into the file at dropbox then you can link it to vista print and get books, photos and albums printed from there and everyone you give the log in and password to can look at the photos!

    Hi,

Is anyone getting (or had) their make up done at the levitunturi spa? Were you happy with it? Did you have a trial beforehand? Im rubbish at makeup so I am tempted with it, that and not having to carry my make up bag to lapland.

Im lucky that my friend is a hairdresser and is doing my hair as a wedding present.

Hi everyone'saw this forum and thought I'd join as starting to drive my fiancé crazy! We are also getting married in the luvvattama ice gallery in levi lapland on 8th jan . We have 26 guests now all paid and set to leave with us on the 4th. We have booked directly with satu at the venue and have all the prices and everything booked. We are having a meal in the restaurant at the venue. Im Super organised have my dress already. Although now starting to panic as time is running away and things to pay for still.

is anyone wearing snow boots and if so I'm wandering as we r having a uk party ill be wearing shoes in the uk and so ideally want snowboots with a bit of a heal so I'm not short. I cant find any. So if any of you brides have advice I'd love to hear it. What time are you all getting married?

    So exciting can't wait xxx

    Hi Sammy,

I have some silvery grey uggs I bought in New York, so I'm super excited about that, we are having a uk do too which I intend to wear shoes for, though it's likely ill change back into my uggs for dancing in.

We get married a week after you on the 14/01/15, which will be 2 years after we got engaged in Levi, our ceremony is booked for 4.30, don't think the registrar will come up from kitilla any earlier. Though it is a beautiful time of day when the sky turns pink, can't wait for that.

im going to my first dress shop on Sunday, it is having a 70% off sale, so figured I'd go and look. Though I have bought my boots and jacket already

Hey it's so lovely to read your posts! I got my dress back in September and just love it it's so perfect for levi! I am having a struggle with cover ups capes make me look silly and hide the dress and cover ups I'm just trying as again I don't want to hide everyone's dresses. To be fair when we went few weeks back the ice castle wasn't cold and I'm sure I could manage to go bare armed which for photos I think I will then just wear a cover up outside the venue for pics . We too get married at 430 I can't wait especially if the northern lights make a show was gutted it was cloudy all of the week we went in jan. But with all the candles and fairy lights it will look beautiful. I've ordered some faux fur sleeved bolero jackets so going to see what they are like.

My bridesmaid three of them are in long satin navy dresses still hunting for the right style though. It's so amazing there isn't it I just knew soon as I got engaged that would be out place. We origionally booked our wedding through Lapland weddings as they have done all our holiday part but then we met satu the luvvattama wedding co ordinator and now she has dealt direct with us and we have got everything so much cheaper and she is so so helpful. As we want to celebrate with friends and family on our weddinf day we are staying in the glass igloo the night after !

Aweww how are you all getting on with plans ! It's so nice to talk to fellow Lapland brides everyone here thinks I've lost the plot getting married there!

Awww your super organised like me ha ha ! It's amazing how quick time then starts flowing ! I def want some height with my dress an inch or two would be fine just worried I'll have it altered to snow boots then when where shoes dress will be long. I origionally saw bridal wellies but in jan it reached minus 28 at one point and even with snow boots my feet were painfully cold :-p do u have a pic of your snow boots and of the uggs id love to see...

Lovely to hear from you all x x

Satu the wedding co ordinator has organised a photographer for part of our reception too. You get about 300 400 pics on a cd some edited. And we have arranged to have a DVD of our wedding for family back home it's done like a story apparently the photos with your fave music over it and for both think we have paid about 850 euros . But my mum has got a little excited booking everything ha ha bless her !

Restaurants we ate at some amazing ones in levi the Lapland Ali carte is out of this world! It's opposite the great western and belongs to the crazy reindeer and also the grill near rock cafe both a little more expensive but perfect !

I have menus I can send pics if anyone wants them x

    Hi,

I can't upload a pic of my boots at the moment as I'm away on site, if you google ugg bailey I do, they are very similar to them but more greyey but still with a bit of sparkle and the diamanté button.

I'm staring to feel woefully underprepared, we have only just started looking at uk party venues, though I think we have a few places in mind but we need to start viewing them, to be fair we have both been stupidly busy since the new year but after this weekend should have a bit more time.

its all starting to get very exciting now, bed I took your idea and I'm gonna have a make up trial with my normal beautician before going over, though I'm also going to go to the Estée Lauder counter (it's the only eye shadow and mascara don't itch with after an hour- so I'd hope the staff in Lapland don't feel put out if I take my own).

Rose colours are now starting to take over my googling times especially now I'm in a hotel for the next few nights, I know I don't want red or white but I'm struggling to find the colours I have in my head, when I've been paid I'm going to go visit a florist (I'd feel guilty using their time without buying anything).

oh any chance you can email me the menu's too it's ********@**********.***, we have semi decided on a reindeer feast at the k5 but there is 1 vegetarian and I'm not sure how well they would be catered for.

I got my bridesmaid a pair oif normal grey uggs, but she doesn't know yet, I'm only having one bridesmaid and have pretty much given her free rein on dresses as long as they are navy blue or silvery grey. I really wanted to stay away from the reds and greens of "Xmas weddings" given as we get married in January. For flowers I want a contrast so I'm thinking of different colours of pink hopefully with frosted berries. I've still not decided whether to get real or silk flowers for my bridesmaid and male wedding party.

We so haven't done anything about the wedding for a while (since we bought shoes and rings on holiday), we have seen some venues for the uk party and have a fair idea what we want, we just need to do it. Went dress shopping at the weekend (my dress budget was ridiculously slashed by ring) I was amazed how such cheap fabric dresses could be soooo expensive, my friend ordered our bridesmaid dresses off eBay (from china) for a fraction of the cost but the same fabric and quality of workmanship. I'm interested in seeing my friends dress (it did need altering when it arrived but she did order it too big just in case). Think I have found a cake maker, just need to get out of travelodges and back home to sort out getting quotes, then maybe simplifying what we want

HeHey soon as I have a mobile again ill email those menus . Everything is on there and had it stolen but I'm off this week so will def send them. We are eating in the luvattuma tepee restaurant straight after which will be lovely. I'm still on the search for the perfect snow boots. Found the ones I want just can't locate where they are from ha ha. I want a heal as needs to match the one inch height of my shoes for the uk party. We have just confirmed everything with satu now at the ice gallery so all booked now Smiley smile are any of u arriving on the reindeer sleigh? What time do u all get married? I have my photographer coming to but she is a bridesmaid so have let her off in lapland and have one there and. Videographer. Smiley smile so exciting isn't it.i got my bridesmaid dresses last week so it's all coming together now. X

Hi everyone, my fiancée and I are just starting to plan our Lapland wedding, and would love your advice and experiences on whether we should choose a date in Dec, Jan or March, and if anyone can advise on the difference in cost for the holiday element - if there is any... I will probably be using Ruth at sun and snow weddings, who has already been amazingly helpful! There is only going to be a few of us; 12 adults and 2 children. Thanks everyone. Xx

Hello Nicola, I was the poster that has no name in this thread lol. Were getting married 30th December 2015. It's a lot more expensive that week as we are there over new year. If you wait until after the Xmas/new year period it's a lot cheaper hotel and flight wise but then again you have children coming so it's whether their parents can get them off school. We chose dec as my sister is a teacher but last time we visited we went in January just after new year. It was amazing but the uk got hit by a snow drift from the artic and we ended up in the coldest winter they had in 50 years or something haha. It didn't snow whilst we were there but there was still snow everywhere! It's such a beautiful place! Feb half term might be cheaper and you still get cold weather there so may be an option with children but don't quote me on it being cheaper. Were looking at £2.5k for two of us in the levitunturi hotel but log cabins can be cheaper if you don't mind cooking/eating out or they do half board for breakfast but you gotta walk to a hotel for that. We have booked with rue and she's been lovely so far! I added her page on Facebook so I can keep looking at pics lol. Where are u going to get married? We have chosen the ice chapel. It looks so beautiful! We are booking our holiday with inghams as the reps were fantastic last time we went and on the first day you can book all your weeks excursions so you don't have to book in advance x

We got married in March in Levi, and what we didn't expect was the a week of glorious sunshine and not a cloud in the sky, although the tempretures that week were the coldest of that winter! We used Sun and Snow weddings and Ruth was fabulous from start to finish.

Thanks guys. We have just started looking at the holiday part and I have to admit, I can't believe how expensive it is, lol. Jan definitely looks like the cheapest option, and Inghams seem to have the best deals too. What have you guys found?

    Hi Nicola,

I advise you to choose March. Definately the best time if you want to get good pictures that will remind you of this special day. I've been shooting there for years and from my experience March is way better than Dec or Jan. You will get few more hours of daylight and in the same time there will still be quite a big chance of seeing Northern Lights.

    Cheers,

    Tomasz

    Hi everyone!

    Just wanted to say "hi"

We're getting married in December 2014 and like most are using Rue (sun and snow weddings). Only decided to set the date about 8 weeks ago and am just about sorted this end already. Just need to get my boots and jacket!

Best thing about it is that, apart from half a dozen very close people, no-one knows! My partners 21 year old daughter is coming with us so will just be the 3 of us.

    Really can't wait.

Oooo how exciting!! Are you having a meal after or anything and if so where have you chosen? The only thing I have for lapland is my day to day snow clothes and my boots which I wore last time I went so going to wear them and claim they are my something old as they are conveniently white lol. I go dress shopping on the 25th and I cannot wait! Worried it was a bit early but it's hard getting my BMs together so grabbing the opportunity! Are you having anything in the uk on your return?

Not sure where we'll have our "after meal" yet, still deciding that, along with the music etc.

Don't think it's ever too early tbh, especially if you've got a few to come with you. I went on my own and decided which dress i wanted then just took my future stepdaughter to confirm my thoughts - one joy of it only being the three of us!

No, nothing on return, really can't be bothered with all that smiles for the family and having a party for them malarky, prefer to spend the pennies on us having a fabulous time lol

I so so want to shout about it from the rooftops but also don't want people to know so they can be totally surprised as well.

That sounds ideal just the 3 of you. Were keeping it to very close family and the best man :-) there seems so much choice with places to eat after! All the money you save on a uk party can go on snowmobiling and husky rides! Lol how are you getting to the venue? I'm thinking reindeer sleigh ride! I don't blame you for wanting to shout from the roof tops it's just so exciting!!
