Wedding in Lapland

Yes agreed about the blessing...I thought the same...especially as some of the crucial paperwork falls over Christmas closures!!!

My dress possibly will fit...I'm not sure as I haven't had it back yet....toying with the idea of having it shipped over by the bridal company but I know I will be on tenterhooks in case there are delays etc!!!"

I would be a nervous wreck shipping it. But even a structured boned mermaid with train mine fits easy into my hand luggage and it won't be left anywhere. Plus it won't be in a dress bag carried over my arm. They are heavy so the trolley case is much easier. I found it was fine when hung up once I got it to spain. Plus our room has a personal sauna. Ideal if it needs a bit of steaming!

My cloak is on it's way!!! A tad excited as h2b paid the vat on if today so hopefully a few days and it will be here! I got a quote from a taxi firm to take us to the airport and that's about as much planning as I have done recently ?

Sun and Snow weddings posted a pic on Facebook of last nights northern lights show over Levi.

I m torn between the two ill have to get the OH to put his input in im not sure I see a lot of people go with inghams? as id like to spend the week there not just 4 nights etc! I was like you 2 years to go and suddenly its 12 months to go I don't now where that time has gone but I need to get organised and finalise what I want and where one thing that has been organised is my dress I put a deposit down next month im so excited.

We're going with inghams and used them last time. The reps were really helpful. I found they were one of the few that offered a week too.

A week for us with Inghams also. Haven't been able to fault them so far. They included all our husky mushing, reindeer farm and sleigh ride, snowmobile trip, night at the glass igloos etc and thermal suit and boot hire. When our friends decided later they wanted to come they did a new booking for them, changed the dates of some trips so we could all do them together and it not interfere with the day we were getting married, and linked our bookings. And no mention of any charges for all their messing about.

Collected our certificates of no impediment from the registry office today. Tomorrow they will be winging their way to Milton Keynes for the apostle stamps. Ready for stage two of the paperwork then it's off to Finland for it all.

All paperwork done (not as difficult as I expected) and the ice castle is well under construction!

We only had a couple taken outside the venue but the photographer brought lighting and they look fab! The venue really is beautiful! Are you marrying there? When and have you gone with sun & snow or direct with the venue?

Been for my preserving look round tonight. Blown away. The photos dont do it justice. -27 tonight so far. Xx

Thank you. Done my wedding report, it's all over bar the album etc. wedding and Lapland was totally amazing. Can't wait to go back again.

Yes I did! Thank you for all your help! I think that the rules are a bit different in Rovaniemi regarding time scales but yes...all done and confirmed by the Registrar over there!

It exceeded my wildest dreams and as for the Northern Lights on our wedding day that took my breath away. It's so beautiful out there. You will love it. I can't wait to go back. Yes pics. Lots of pics. What have you got arranged for your day.

We now have 12 guests who have confirmed so we have booked a log cabin for our reception - we'll be having a winter BBQ by the lakeside...I've bought appropriate favors like engraved (and will be filled) hip flasks, hand warmers, blankets, flying lanterns and wishing pinecones that everyone can put on the fire like the one in this https://uk.pinterest.com/pin/117797346479351418/

Oh I know I was so lucky! Log cabin reception and lakeside wi.Ted bbq sounds amazing and if you're dressed correctly you can stand the Cold a long time. Have you booked a photographer? We had one for the wedding and again for some daylight pics as married in the dark. Daytime pics in the snow are amazing and some at your bbq would be good especially with the lanterns. Hope you get lights too. We only had one clue but gave them handwarmers and feet warmers too and bubbles to blow and watch freeze etc.
