Wedding Insurance

Raphaella, 6 December, 2020 at 17:22 Posted on Planning 0 2
Hi! me and my fiancé finally agreed on a venue this weekend and we both LOVE it, which is exactly what I wanted.
But before I sign anything I wanted wedding insurance - however a lot of companies aren't offering it at the moment. Anyone else having this struggle??? What should we do?
The wedding will be in 2022 and I know a lot of suppliers are getting booked up already!!

Many people in this and other forums described same issue. There are close to no policies you can get atm and the ones you can get won't cover anything corona related/have poor conditions so very limited use. Best you can do is discuss with the vendors regarding their terms and conditions and pay all with credit card. I doubt you will be able go find any decent insurance in next 6 months. Mine is with dreamsaver (booked prior covid) but they don't sell new policies atm either. So either wait till things improve but being aware that that can be a while or just risk booking/ deposits on what is most important to you(likely venue) and see if you can get a policy once things improve. I think once you have a venue the rest can be sorted in 2021 unless you are very specific on certain vendors you want. As 2022 will be super busy with weddings i would book a venue now tbh..... but obviously also depends on season/ day you wanted how popular its is etc. I booked my venue 2 years in advance and that was pre covid and all people postponing( i wanted may/june and a sunday) ..... Sorry not much help....

Hey! Thanks for the reply, I'm very new to this so your reply was actually helpful! And I really appreciate it.
I'm thinking to pay a deposit for the church and then offer an amount of money to the venue to hold the date and then book /sign contract once I can get insurance cover.
Not sure if it will work but it's one idea, the rest of definitely can wait - were planning October 2022 so I've got time in 2021 to take out policies and book suppliers.
