I am getting married in June 2022 and I am really stressing about not having wedding insurance yet. Does anyone have anywhere they would recommend or any advise for me please? Thank you Emily xx

You won't find insurance till ckvid is improved and even then it won't cover anything covid related. So all you can do is pay by credit card and ready every contract well before signing. Maybe renegotiate t and c on cancellations, refunds, reschedule with your suppliers before signing. Insurances unlikely will be available till end of year if at all.... and by that time it will likely be toto late for you

I wish I done it as soon as we booked the venue but I was too slow! Smiley sad I have seen a couple of places still willing to insure but I am not sure what to do, they are covermywedding and wedinsure.
Thank you for your help x

We're in the same boat. I had planned to wait until the new year to book it as I thought things would have been better by now (how naive!) but there are still so few places offering it. I guess try not to book too many things and what you do book try to pay by credit card. Our venue deposit is on the credit card but we couldn't do that with the photographer so we have just had to risk the deposit there.

We booked the main things as soon as we got engaged which was a few months before covid was around so it’s too late to do that now.
What are you doing about the insurance? Waiting until later in the year?
Are you struggling to find the little things like hair/ makeup/ cake and stuff. I’m finding it difficult to book people

Ahh, that's unfortunate. We booked ours in October.

I think for now we're going to wait and see if they start offering it again. Given it's still 18 months away we don't need to be spending too much now. Leaving the little things until closer to the time like hair and make-up. We want to book a band soon so might have to risk that, but as long as it's only a deposit it's not too bad. Most things don't want a significant amount of money until 12 months before so fingers crossed we'll have insurance by then!

    Hi there,

    Congratulations on your engagement!

We bought our wedding insurance back in May 2019, for what should have been a September 2020 wedding. We have now postponed by 12 months, and our wedding insurer, WedInsure,, have been amazing!

Our policy to cover a £20k wedding was only £64! As a former wedding coordinator for the National Trust, I would strongly recommend you take out wedding insurance as it covers you for so much, not just Covid- related issues.

    Hope this helps,

    Ali

I have seen wedinsure but also saw some bad reviews so was put off, I’m glad you think they are good though! Obviously no where will ever cover covid so I think we need to take the plunge and just get it now! I hope you can get married this year! My fingers are crossed.
For the same amount of cover it is now £124, how bizarre!
    Thank you xxx

    Hiya,
I'm getting married in November 2022 and have gone with Wedinsure - was the only one available in November last year and it cost £125. We got it as a safety net really!

    Hello ladies,

I'd ALWAYS recommend wedding insurance when I was working as a Weddings Coordinator. The peace of mind for (relatively) little outlay is well worth it. There are always tons of horror stories in the media of couples who had a serious problem but had no cover, it really isn't worth the hassle not to have it!

When you think that the "average" (!) wedding in the UK is around the £15k-£20K mark, £125 or so is a drop in the ocean!

    Cheers

    Ali xx
