Wedding Insurance!

Delyse, 4 October, 2021 at 09:32 Posted on Planning 0 3
I’m wondering if anyone could recommend any wedding insurance companies?
The ones we have looked into are either not taking on any other policy’s or they don’t cover Covid. We are reluctant to pay big sums of money incase anything was to happen!
Does a covid covered insurance policy even exist? 😩
Thanks in advance! X

You won’t get coverage for covid anymore, any insurers who are still offering wedding insurance (a lot stopped) will likely exclude covid from their policies. If you want to have covid reassurance you’re probably best getting that written into your contracts with suppliers - ask them what their policies are, and make sure you have in writing what’s expected in the event you have to cancel or reschedule due to covid

Another thing that can offer assurance is to pay for whatever you can via credit card rather than bank transfer. You’ll probably find some suppliers ask for a bank transfer in the first instance, but if you go back and ask to pay by card they will have that option too (more likely in the event that they’re a bigger supplier, may be different for one person bands). paying by credit (not debit) card gives you a bit more protection in the event something goes wrong you can take it up with the credit card company. You probably won’t be able to pay for absolutely everything via credit card, but worth asking - I’ve had a few where they’ve asked for bank transfer but when I’ve gone back asking to pay by card they’ve been perfectly happy to accept that too

Agree with Nathalie, no Covid policies and many insurers not offering policies at all. I had clauses put in all my contracts that we could move date if Covid restrictions meant the wedding could not take place in the form we had booked we would not be charged and if they could not accommodate a like for like change payment would be refunded. Is a tricky one but stick to your guns and try to get the best deal
