Wedding insurance recommendations

lovelaurajane, 26 May, 2014 at 14:23 Posted on Planning 0 3

Hi all!

My first purchase of course is going to be wedding insurance! I'm looking and they all seem pretty similar, any to avoid? Any recommendations?

Thank you!

Laura

There was a recent thread about this: https://www.hitched.co.uk/chat/forums/t/435791.aspx

I think the general consensus was "avoid E&L"! I think we're going with John Lewis, as it's a name we trust, even though the premiums are a bit higher than the others.

    I used Dreamsaver too.

Yes I've also experienced some people who seem to not understand what the insurance covers. The icing on the cake was someone who cancelled the wedding because he was caught out having an affair. Then because the insurance was in his name, he tried to claim everything back despite the fact that a) His ex-GF and her family had paid for everything and b) It's not exactly the idea of the insurance!
