Wedding Invitations

Simone, 18 January, 2023 at 21:55 Posted on Etiquette and Advice 0 2
Hello, so to try cut costs down I’ve opted to do our our wedding invitations. Has anyone else done this and have any inspiration? I’m also looking to mention that we would prefer money instead of gifts how to I get that down on the invites? I’ve seen poems but they all seem long winded and I don’t have the brain power to write it all out 😂

We didn’t make ours, but in terms of minimising how much to write in them, we just put a message in ours saying that further details would be shared on receipt of RSVPs. We then drafted an email with all the details (directions, hotels, gifts, etc) and sent it on whenever we received an RSVP. Obviously for some guests we just put a printout in the invitation (old people, mostly) but for everyone else it’s worked well so far.

We used Canva to design ours, lots of different themes to chose and you can edit text boxes and colours so it takes some time but worth it. We then emailed them as a pdf but you can print if you want. Keep it simple and just give details, poems etc are nice but for me, not needed. We added the link to our website where there were pages with more detailed information on the day, travel directions hotels etc and people RSVP'd on there. We had so many comments on how easy it was to just go on a site and not have to keep paper safe for months before the wedding. Also, I try to live as sustainabley as possible so this was a no brainer for us, no paper, delivery van footprint etc
