Wedding Invites

Saphireangel, 1 of April of 2022 at 02:06 Posted on Planning 0 3

I am trying to design my wedding e-vites. I've had my Christian + Chinese name since birth, however my parents only registered my Chinese name on my birth certificate. Almost everyone knows me by my Christian name.

I prefer my Christian name be used in my wedding invites. Of course when I get married in front of the vicar, she will call me by my legal Chinese name. Should I be using my legal Chinese name or can I use my Christian name on my wedding invitations? Advice please?

You can use either. I see a lot of brides who are known to everyone by a nickname use their full name on their invites, but it’s not compulsory. I guess it’s so people know their full name before the wedding ceremony, especially if it’s quite different from their nickname. But there’s no legality on what’s written on your wedding invites if that’s what you’re getting at Smiley smile

I would use the name you are known by! My partners nick name is on our invites as that’s what everyone calls him! Do whatever makes you comfortable

Thank you so much ladies. Appreciate the responses. I used my Christian name (since birth) (but not legal) on my digital wedding invites which I absolutely love. Its finally gone out. I want to print them off now. Smiley smile
