Wedding is in 2024

My wedding is in 2024, when do people usually start planning /booking things? We have already booked our venue & booked it with the church…just so we can pay it off gradually.

Do we wait until next year too book the rest such as photographers, wedding cars etc. Unsure of how far ahead these things need planned. I’m also so excited I just want to book it all now lol.

Whenever you feel comfortable. We got engaged last summer in August 2021. Our wedding is in April 2022, in three months time!! We will have organised it all for 125 guests in eight months. Just get your dress ordered early. It was the first thing I did, from Jesus Peiro.

Any time frame works 🥰 good luck xx

It partly depends on how specific you are about what you want - and also if your wedding is on a popular date. And while 2024 likely won't be as busy as 2021 was, I know several people who have postponed weddings to 2023 and 2024 because they are hoping for Covid to be over by then, so you may find 2024 is still a little busier than a 'normal' year would be.

If you have a specific florist, photographer, caterer etc in mind, then I would book them as soon as you can so that you don't find out they're not available later on. But if you are less fussed about which supplier you get, then you are fine to leave it for a while.

I would start researching florists, photographers, hair and make up, cars etc now and checking availability as some are booked up 2 years in advance. You would need to pay holding deposits now but is usually small amount, but it means if you have your heart set on a particular supplier you are less likely to miss out if they are booked already, We had ours booked within 2 weeks of booking the venue and took a lot of stress away as I could sit back for months and not have to worry, but like you I wanted to do it, so I did! also, we managed to secure pricing, which has saved us loads as a lot of the suppliers are putting prices up now to re coup losses from last 2 years, so

I would start researching as soon as you can to understand what you want. That way if there’s a supplier or a certain thing you’re definite on then you can book it ASAP. Some suppliers have a 2 year plus waiting list so it’s worth checking now incase.
