Wedding nails

Kaz87, 10 April, 2016 at 18:10 Posted on Planning 0 22

Hi all.

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend. Just wondering what you are all doing with your nails for your wedding. I'm going to get mine done as have awful natural nails that just break, but I am unsure whether to just go for the French manicure look. What are you all doing?

    Hey!

i am having shellac french manicure - if you nails are weak and prone to breaking I'd recommend getting shellac gels a few weeks before.

i got mine done yesterday and my wedding is in 6 weeks - you get them fortnightly so should help not to break x

I'm having a Shellac manicure with this design. They're a bit more hard wearing which is just as well as I'm paranoid about chipping a nail at the last minute!

I am having shellac french manicure done. I bite my nails and so I have been having Shellac for the past couple months and its made a huge difference

I'm going for gels - I don't usually, but I wanted some reassurance that they wouldn't chip. I'm torn between a classic french manicure look, and have them dark purple to match the amethyst of my engagement ring.

I looked on groupon and got a discount voucher so its only costing £10.

Either a French or what I'm rocking right now Smiley smile

My nail lady extends my nails with silk. It's super kind on the nails and has really helped. I haven't needed extensions for 2 months now ?

They look super pink in this pic but it's a lot paler IRL!

Is that the SNS? My mum has that. It's amazing to watch it be done!

No it's Bio Gel but with this specialist nail silk. She puts the base coat of gel on, pops on a bit of silk and goes over it with more base then cures it. Ends up rock hard!

I'm not sure what to do with mine - I have Biosculpture gels on all the time & just have a change of colour every three weeks, so trying to think of something a bit more special than the norm for the big day but can't decide what. I might have a nice coral if I decide to dye my shoes a coral colour too..

Just a French manicure for me. I don't really want falsies, but I have a tendency to bite my nails if I'm stressed or bored, so will probably have to get some done.

I'm struggling with this! I have a purple engagement ring so need a pale colour that won't clash. The problem is they all look strange to me as I don't do pale or french manicure!

I never wear polish, but figured my hands were potentially going to feature rather prominently on the day so having a manicure and polish the day before with my bridesmaid. Just need to stop myself from peeling it off in the evening...!

Planning on having a very pale pink which looks as natural as possible.

My photographer suggested a natural/neutral colour so I went with a french manicure shellac.

I am going for a peachy coral or a latte colour only because I don't really like French on my hands

I'm known for always having my nails done so this is a subject quite close to my heart! I do my own gel nails every two weeks...

This is what I'm planning to do for the wedding Smiley smile

I have short nails - my twin hobbies of sewing and weightlifting don't really inspire nice nails! I'll keep them short, no falsies because I'm not used to them, probably either in a pretty natural manicure or a neutral polish.

I'm going to do them myself - my hair dressers sell the CND Vinyl polish and I've got some colours in it already & it's really impressive.

I was thinking of just a nude colour.

I had a very pale shimmer pinky pearly colour with some white glitter from the tips down... I don't have a photo sadly but it was very subtle and just a little different to the normal french polish Smiley smile

Some great ideas thank you ladies. I think I'll go for classic French manicure or just very pale pink. Hoping the lady who is doing my nails has a lot of patience for me on the day lol. I originally wanted red with white polka dots but think I'll stick with something subtle now.
