Wedding nerves!!!!

smithson01, 17 March, 2022 at 10:14 Posted on Planning 0 2
Hi....
I had just randomly googled a wedding forum juat to see if anyone else has or is experiencing the same as me...
I'm getting married in just under 4 weeks, this will be our 3rd date now, obviously due to covid! We've been together 11 years and very happy, two children. Just wondering if anyone else had massive wedding nerves... I feel sooo nervous, constantly thinking about it, every single little detail...feel like I'm not allowing myself to enjoy the planning at all and more nervous about the morning, walking down the aisle (absolutely hate being centre of attention), whether anything will go wrong, will everyone turn up, will it run smoothly, what could go wrong... The list is never ending 😩 Anyone else relate to this at all?
Thanks 🥰

Try taking a few deep breaths and thinking to yourself ‘lots of love in, and lots of love out’. I find it really settling. And then focus on the big picture instead of the small details. Some things probably won’t be perfect, and someone probably won’t turn up BUT come the big day, you’ll have so many bigger and better things to think about that those details will just pass you by! Remember why you’re doing this, and focus on that instead of fretting about any details. Most of your guests probably won’t notice half of those details anyway! Lol

Hi. I'm sorry you are feeling like this. It's really difficult when you have invested so much and want everything to be perfect. I echo the comment above that there are so many things that other people won't even notice that you really care about. Think of the weddings you have been to and how much of the detail you remember - pretty much none, I'll bet, other than the "feel" of it, which you get from how happy people are.
Try and put things in perspective, and remember that the only thing that can actually "ruin" a wedding, is one of you not turning up. If he goes, and you go, and you are married at the end of it. It IS perfect.
