wedding night hotel London

tealbutterfly27, 29 September, 2013 at 08:18 Posted on Planning 0 6

Hi all,

We're not planning on going to honeymoon just yet but have decided we'll spend the night in a lovely hotel. I wondered if anyone could recommend lovely hotels in London. Don't want anything considered a business hotel. Have a budget of about £200-£250 for the night. Trivago had some good deals but I don't know where to start. So thinking starting with a recommendation might be best.

Thanks x

Without sounding like a total snob, £200-£250 a night in a central London will get you a lovely hotel, but it will most likely be a business hotel of some sort (Hilton, Ramada, Melia etc.). If you're prepared to spend a little bit more, you can get something less business minded.

That being said - I personally think the business style hotels offer excellent value and are often spacious and comfortable, especially at weekends.

I would recommend looking at the lastminute.com secret hotels, as they usually have excellent deals on very good hotels.

    ^^^ WSS.

There's nothing wrong with a business type hotel but this is why you'll get or that kind of money in Central London probably.

Its worth having a bit of a look around to see prices for when you want it. E stayed in the Mayfair for a special occasion and really liked it - lovely spacious rooms great service and the breakfast is amazing. For our days it was £220 so it might be worth a try

Yea sadly as others have said London Hotels are expensive, it will really be down to luck if you can find a good promotion, if you have any shortlisted I may be able to offer some pointers.

We stayed here the night before our wedding for £250 on an early bird rate https://montcalmcollection.com/montcalm-marble-arch/

Also the https://www.rookeryhotel.com/ might be worth a look.

Also don't forget to mention its your wedding night to increase your chances of an upgrade!

I agree with the posters above, but I think with a little searching you might be able to find something that isn't too 'businessy'. The Flemings Hotel in Mayfair often has good deals on trivago etc. I've not stayed there but I've had a work dinner there, and afternoon tea, both of which were excellent.. The Charlotte Street hotel has rooms for around £250 which I know is the top end of budget but it really is amazing. The Sanderson is also awesome - they have a really great little residents' bar called the Purple Bar, a heated outside courtyard, and the decor is pretty quirky. It's quite modern though, so may or may not be to your taste.

I think someone else mentioned Secret Hotels, which you can get on LastMinute.com. Also, if you Google the description you can often work out which hotel it is anyway Smiley winking
