Wedding night underwear for the groom!!

groomzilla, 22 February, 2011 at 14:21 Posted on Planning 0 36

Is this the last taboo for wedding planning? No one seems to want to talk about it so I thought lets put it out there. Us grooms want something special too. Obviously novelty is a big no no but what about lace up or mesh?

Anyone able to recommend any websites?

I shall most certainly not be "wearing anything special" for the wedding night, it'll probably be my usual Homer Simpson, or "Beer / Burger / Bed" pyjamas.

Despite all the hype about "the wedding night", I'm quite sure that the vast majority of newlyweds, having been on their feet all day, then spending a good hour trying to prise the bride out of her dress and taking out hundreds of hairpins, are far too tired for any "lights out" shenanigans after it all - and that's assuming that neither of you have drunk too much during the day as well.

I expect most people would accept that waiting until at least the morning when you have a little more life in you is far better than bowing to pressure to "consummate on the night" in a half-hearted feeble effort just because you're "supposed to".

Erm, no thanks. I don't want it to look like my new husbands bits are trying to escape from a sieve. Renegade hairs poking out every which way. It doesn't float my boat.

If you reckon it'll work for your missus, why not try fashioning a pair out of an old string vest? Cheap to buy and will come in 'virginal white', just right for the big* reveal on your wedding night.

    No need to thank me.

    *or not

"usual Homer Simpson, or "Beer / Burger / Bed" pyjamas" otherwise known as 'grounds for annulment'

I'd be thoroughly disappointed if I thought my future husband was writing off our wedding night already!

Just looking for something special and a bit different. Am sure the brides give it a great deal of thought and expense!

Maybe something shiny and silky ?

My H had new pants for the day but tbh, lace up or mesh wouldn't float my boat. Each to their own and all that!!

AJ - Don't forget that if you're staying in a hotel for one night after the wedding then you need to be (pun intended...) up and out by a certain time!! ?

We're not having a disco, we're having a barn dance, so I can't really comment on that type of DJ.

    PANTS!

No sieve pants. No silk pants. No PJ's (novelty or otherwise). Either of these will suffice:

    Traditional CK's: http://www.cku.com/home/index.jsp

Just got the relevance of the "Troll" comment. I am genuinely getting married next year and although asked with a degree of fun I was actually keen to hear other hitchers thoughts ?
