Wedding party after getting married abroad

We have planned our dream intimate wedding abroad, on a beach with just our children and our parents. We now have the issue of looking for a venue back in the UK to celebrate with everyone when we return and it's just feeling like a huge expense that just isn't a priority for us as we would have already had our special day. I want to share our happy news with our nearest and dearest but am really struggling to find a venue that can give us what we want, which really is just a party with a BBQ and a bar, no faff! As soon as you say it's a wedding the price goes up so much! Because of the huge expense i'm wondering whether to not have a reception back here at all (which will disappoint a lot of family), have it really delayed from the wedding so we can save up for it again, or just do something real budget (which isn't proving very easy!)... any ideas ?

Can you me not mention wedding, maybe say your booking a birthday party etc? 😏
Have you got a bbq field by you? We’ve got a local country park which had a private BBQ area which you can rent for the day/night?
You would have to do your own BBQ and provide your own drinks but you could do a bring your own bottle. Then just have tubs of ice filled with cheap drinks. I’m sure someone would love to man the BBQ. Then you could decorate it and have your own music etc.
Or what about a community centre? Some have bars or again bring your own bottle. Some even allow BBQ’s and they normally aren’t too expensive either.
Do you have any local pubs which have function rooms to hire? Covers the Bar aspect, you may not be able to have a BBQ but some offer a buffet. Could be another cheaper option.
