Hello everyone my name is Beth.

I am a wedding planner and stylist in training and I want to understand more about what it is that people want from the wedding planner/stylist.

I would be very grateful if you could take just five minutes of your time to answer a few questions.

This then gives me a better understanding of what people really want for their weddings.

You can either leave Your answers in the comment section where you can contact me via my email address which is

**************@*******.***

Or my Instagram account:

Thank you again for taking the time to answer these few questions.

What are 3 things you feel that could be improved in the wedding planner industry?

What are your main frustrations when it comes to planning for your wedding?

What would you like to change about how things are going with planning your wedding ?

What’s the biggest pain for you around _________ [problem, frustration, issue]?

What does this ___________ [problem, frustration, issue] cost you in terms of lost time,

money or aggravation?

How important is this for you to handle right now?

What else would get better in your life if this was a non-issue?

Have you ever paid for a product or service like this before?

If so, what did you pay for products or services like this?

What did you like best about it?

What frustrates you about this kind of product or service?

What’s a dream solution for you in this area?

Have you researched this product/service in the past? If so, through what methods: Google,

social media sites, through friends or something

else?

How do you judge if a product/service is good/bad or right/wrong for you?

What is the key motivator for you in looking to purchase this kind of product/service?

What social media sites do you use most frequently?

What are your favourite websites, magazines, stores and brands?

What do you wish companies/brands/providers in this industry understood about you?

If money were no object, what brand or kind of product/service would you buy?

Thank you so much for answering these questions.

It is greatly appreciated.

I hope the rest of your day is magical.

What are 3 things you feel that could be improved in the wedding planner industry?

•make it easier, as in easier to find an independent wedding planner rather than one that comes with the venue.

•not have ridiculous prices especially as a lot of couples are more of the mentality of do it yourself.

•communication. Once booked the communication needs to be really good! Too much is never too much!

What are your main frustrations when it comes to planning for your wedding?

•the prices! Everything is doubled as soon as you mention weddings.

•working out what you need to do. For most people it’s the first time they have ever done anything like this and knowing where to start is overwhelming.

What would you like to change about how things are going with planning your wedding ?

•More communication from the venue/ suppliers

•covid and it’s restrictions and more clear guidelines

What’s the biggest pain for you around _________ [problem, frustration, issue]?

•not knowing how my wedding will be due to covid restrictions and nobody knowing due to lack of guidance from the government.

What does this ___________ [problem, frustration, issue] cost you in terms of lost time,

    money or aggravation?

*potentially losing money on 20 meals due to lower numbers but have had to pay for those meals already.

How important is this for you to handle right now?

•can’t really do anything about it and it’s all just a waiting game

What else would get better in your life if this was a non-issue?

•less stress, less upset, easier to plan things, would save us money as in not wasting money on items that won’t be used.

Have you ever paid for a product or service like this before?

    *never

If so, what did you pay for products or services like this?

    N/A

What did you like best about it?

    N/A

What frustrates you about this kind of product or service?

    N/A

What’s a dream solution for you in this area?

•If the planner was affordable and easily booked then I would of potentially booked one.

Have you researched this product/service in the past? If so, through what methods: Google,

social media sites, through friends or something

    else?

    •no

How do you judge if a product/service is good/bad or right/wrong for you?

•either test it if I can, reviews from trusted sources and recommended

What is the key motivator for you in looking to purchase this kind of product/service?

    •save time and money

What social media sites do you use most frequently?

    •Instagram

What are your favourite websites, magazines, stores and brands?

•social media sites, google, or apps. I don’t buy magazines.

Stores are mainly online at the moment or just supermarkets.

Brands are affordable, high street brands.

What do you wish companies/brands/providers in this industry understood about you?

    •not everyone is rich

If money were no object, what brand or kind of product/service would you buy?

•for my wedding I would have lighted drapes to cover the ceiling and walls. I would have a photographer. Chair wraps. And lots of little extra bits.

    Hey Emma,

I just want to say thank you for taking time out of your day to answer my questionnaire.
You raised a quite a few good points I totally agree with you regarding “

•make it easier, as in easier to find an independent wedding planner rather than one that comes with the venue.

•not have ridiculous prices especially as a lot of couples are more of the mentality of do it yourself.

•communication. Once booked the communication needs to be really good! Too much is never too much!”

    100% agree with these points.

If you don’t mind would you mind answering one more question ?

So do you think something like tier packages would work better for the now average modern couple that is planning to get married?

Rather than going through a venue which then supplies you with a wedding planner and coordinator?

By doing something like a tier packages you could have bronze, silver and gold but each one will give you a different particular service whether that’s if you wanted it to be catered at a venue along with planning and having a coordinator or just something as simple as turning up on the day and making your dream wedding come to life.

Do you think something like this would be more valued with now a days couples who are planning to get married?

Again thank you for answering my previous questions I greatly appreciate it .

Kind regards and I hope you have a mystical day Beth.

Oohh yes the tier packages sound perfect.
Then you can choose how much ‘involvement’ the planner has.

My venue has come with a planner but obviously they only plan the venue stuff. Also a lot of venue’s wedding planners aren’t massively trained in that department, yeah they do events and run the events of the venue. But hotels for example, potentially they haven’t had a lot of experience of weddings. I would of loved a planner for dress/flowers/hen/favours/music etc. Even if it was a weekly email saying this week you need to look at it book certain things and then giving me a list of suppliers etc. I would of loved someone who was experienced in weddings and knows what brides and grooms want before they know themselves 🤣 The tiers would really help as well with couples who want to do it themselves but when they actually start doing it realise they need help. Obviously the planning is a fun part for most people but a lot don’t know where to start and if they could have a planner who worked with them and the couple knew from the start what bits they have paid for (as in what will be planned) then I reckon they would go for it.
I love how you researching. If I could of found you at e beginning, you sound like my type of planner. Your going to be great in this role ❤️
