Ok so take a breath, there is a lot to do, but you can break it down as some stuff can wait. Research everything and make shortlists so you are prepped to book suppliers as soon as you have your date. Once you have decided on your venue and date ask the venue to hold the date and contact the registrars office to confirm they have availability for your date and then book them, you can then go ahead and sign contracts for venues, if you do this before registrar you run the risk of not having one available so you may have to move dates which could cost you, or have the legal bit on a different day.

Once the registrar and venue are booked you should look to book photographer, hair and make up, overnight accommodation (night before and wedding night if not at your venue) around the same time so you can make sure you get your date. Once these bits are done you will have plenty of time for the rest.

Our venue is all in so we get all the catering, wine, DJ and on site rooms in one package, which is far less stressful than doing separately so you really need to think about how much you are prepared to do. We were going DIY but once I looked in to it the costs were similar but I would have to manage the vendors, which I didn't want the stress!

Use the Budget tool on here, some of it will not be relevant to you but it does give you an idea of things you need to add to your list. I have a separate spreadsheet with a line for each item and the budget so I can update it easily.

I know it seems a lot and is overwhelming but you will be fine, the main thing you need is you and H2B, the rest really doesn't matter, is just stuff!

    Good Luck! x

Oh bless you. I'm the same. I'm in the beginning stages and I'm already getting overwhelmed. I did buy a planner from amazon which is like a journal. If you prefer that kind of organisation, it was reasonably cheap. Designed by a bride who was exactly in the same shoes.

    The link is: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07QDFRT2X?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
It has a Brides notes for all your scribbles and then it's like an address book for all the formal stuff. It also has a bit of a checklist to make it a timely organisational thing. I think I'll find it helpful personally.
Failing that, a simple spreadsheet will be fairly easy to create. My other half is a massive need so SS are his life. Haha. We have one which we've put a venues tab in, which lists the name of the place, their website and just little bits that may be important such as minimum / max guest numbers for day and night. We've got the venue fee in there. If it's exclusive. Evening meal included. We then have a tab for potential guests, photographers, which includes 1 or 2 photographers, drones, style etc.
Easy to say but don't get stressed. It's so easy to say so but it will all come together! ♥️

I also bought a planner from Weddings Inc, I really like to have things written down in one place so its great for just dotting down when you get in touch with a supplier and want to keep their contact details. It also lists all different suppliers, stationary and other bits you might want to consider. So something like that might be helpful to keep organized and also give you prompts of what to book and when

Just remember although people suggest timescales, it's your wedding and you can do things when you want!

    xx

When I was planning my wedding, Hitched had a wedding planning tool - is it still there? I found it really helpful because it lists literally everything you might need to do (and if you're having a simple wedding, it's quite satisfying because you can tick half of it off straight away because you're not doing those things!!!)
