Wedding quiz???

lovelygirl, 12 January, 2011 at 12:50 Posted on Planning 0 16

As an ice breaker for the reception i plan to put out cards one for each couple one side with a sort of advice to the married couple with spaces for them to fill in as they see fit hoping for some comedy genius! on the other side i thought i would put a quick quiz 6 or 8 questions and so far i have got 3.....

How many pairs of shoes i will have worn on my wedding day?

What is the combined age of the bridal party?

Who out of h2b and i rules the remote control?

help!!! can you think of any more questions which are couple rather than fact related?

I have done this! Well the couple quiz bit anyway. Got them printed on vistaprint for FREEEEE!

I had (off the top of my head):

Where are the couple going on honeymoon?

What were the couple's first pets called (2 names)?

Which town did (me) grow up in?

    Which city was (OH) born?

Which body part did (OH) have operated on last year?

Whilst waiting for which fast food to be delivered did (OH) meet (me)?

How old were the couple when they bought their first house together?

Where did the couple celebrate (me) turning 21?

Cant think of anymore but I had 20 qs!

    xxx

I love the idea of advice for married couples!

Hmm quiz question ideas... something along the lines of how/when did H2B and I meet?

Or ask them to write down a memory of you and OH on the other side of the married advice!

Hmm i would rather not have questions about when we got together as it was a bit messy with my ex and much as his friends don't know my friends do and don't want to bring it up at our wedding....

maybe i will be have to get h2b to think of some!

I want to do this in the style of Smash Hits magazine (RIP) so the questions would be like:

If the Bride was a biscuit what would she be?

    But I'm not allowed....

We are thinking of having this but similar problems to what some of you are saying; in that we have a lot of family who we don't see often, live far away, etc - also, there wasn't much time between my fiance splitting with his long term partner and us getting together, so that subject's a bit awkward.

Our caterers offer to make and host the quiz straight after the meal. It's generic questions, such as 'what was the most popular 1st dance song in the UK last year' and 'how many couples said I do in 2008', with multiple choice answers. You can alter it to make it more personal if you wish. The winning table gets two bottles of bubbly and the losing table gets a wooden spoon.

Much of my family hasn't met with my fiance's, and probably wont before the wedding. However, we've chosen to mix the tables because we think it would be a nice opportunity, and don't want it to be 'us & them' between the families. So I figure this will be a good ice breaker to get them all really talking!

We're thinking of doing some sort of quiz as well and giving a prize of a nights stay in the hotel / hotel chain to the winning person / team, but not sure how to work it so people do it individually cause we couldn't give that prize to everyone on the table lol! Plus, our tables won't be mixed so the tables will either be all young, all middle aged or all older!

What about getting some inspiration from Mr & Mrs questions? We're considering doing an actual Mr & Mrs quiz!

If you were a guinea pig.......... what breed would you be?

    a) English Cavy - popular and easy-going.

    b) Silkie - glamorous and high-maintenance

    c) Crested - punky and individual

We have thought of doing a quizz also, but also toying with the idea of getting Social Stirrers instead and putting them on the table so people can help themselves to the questions and talk amongst themselves.

But...I do like the idea of couple being able to write advice out to the new Mr & Mrs as I think it will be fun to read afterwards...

Also, lovelgirl, really like the question of what is the combined age of the bridal party - thats a good one.

    I've done a crossword at https://www.armoredpenguin.com/crossword/

Dead easy to use, add as much or as little as you like.
