Wedding rings

Leonie, 5 March, 2021 at 21:48 Posted on Planning 1 34
Hello,

I am just wondering where everyone is getting wedding rings from? I am looking for something thats not too pricey and preferably matching or very similar rings for me and my partner.
I would also like to get the rings engraved but not sure if I can do that when ordering or seperately?

Hi, me and my husband got our rings with Smooch Wedding Rings. They came to our house and had a big selection of rings to look at and try on etc, all sorts of thicknesses and styles etc. We wanted something they didn’t have exactly and they were able to make what we wanted and it was half the price of the high street jeweller that went to see.

I will admit that when the rings were delivered there was an issue with them not being correct (this was in lockdown 1) however it was rectified really quickly and without any hassle or dispute. We are really happy with them and would definitely recommend

I think that it really ranges depending on what you are after, thickness, width metal etc.
We spent about £1300 on both rings but they are both platinum, we were quoted £2500 for practically identical from a high street jeweller.

This is what we got, just really simple with a milgrain edge

As I say if you went for a 9ct gold it would definitely be more reasonable. They were really good with any queries so if you have something you like the look of I would 100% say email them and see what they can quote.

Also they weren’t too pushy even though they were in our home, I would have been comfortable saying we need to think about it etc it just happened we knew what we wanted and they did the best price by a mile that we found.

We got our rings from hearts of London ( Hatton gardens).

Mine cost £1560, my fiancé’s was £500. We wanted platinum bands (to match my engagement ring) and my WB has diamond shoulders at the same grade as my ER this is why it was more expensive. If our rings sound like something you might like i can add a photo of them.
We love them though- he’s upset we’ve had to postpone from April to July 2021 because he’s so excited to wear his WB ?

My engagement ring is from jewlr and they do wedding bands as well. I have also ordered a ring for sisters 18th which has engraved and she absolutely loved it. My mum is now considering buying from them

We did find some lovely rings on an Irish website, my partners family come from Ireland although he himself isn't Irish. The rings were beautiful but we aren't sure they will match my engagement ring, so I will check out jewlr thankyou x

    Hi,
Just throwing this out there as it may help. We got our wedding rings from a site called Glamira, some really beautiful jewellery on there. The rings were customisable in things like texture, thickness, metal types and stones on some and the price changes accordingly. We managed to get both of our wedding rings for hundreds not thousands. Ive even had a ruby in mine rather than a plain band. You can also get his and her matching sets too (again customisable). They have an engraving service and warrenty.

    Hope this helps Smiley smile

Hi Leonie, I don't know what the protocol is on this forum regards suppliers posting messaages, but I thought I would reach out just to see if I can help. This message is from Colin at COO Jewellers, Essex, Kent & Hatton Garden.

It is difficult at the moment to choose wedding rings due to the lockdown, however, we have been holding some Zoom meetiings online, most of our wedding rings have now been videod which makes an online chat more meaningful, we then post you sample rings to try on at home. If you prefer a face to face chat we are re-opening on 12th April (YES!), I am looking forward to helping as many fustrated brides to be as we can, you can check out some of our diamond wedding rings here on hitched or better still look us up on instagram @coojewellers, any advice you need please email me *****@************.***. Just for guidance our wedding rings start at about £120 (no diamonds though), take care Colin.

I got ours from a seller on Etsy. They're silver, not gold, but they're handmade and engraved. Cost about £50 for the pair.

    Hi

We made our rings at a workshop both 18carat yellow gold, a lovely day and experience. You melt the gold, shape it, buff it and polish it all being guided by an expert. Depends where you are located but we did ours via The Jewellery Cottage just outside Norwich. Total cost was around £700.

That sounds like fun, unfortunately thats a little over our budget and also I'm not confident that mine would end up coming out wonky?

We got a little lucky with the rings. My father's friend is a jeweler. And he will make custom rings for us. We are now in the process of choosing a ring design. But this is the only thing with which we were lucky...

We have ordered our rings from Auronia (https://www.auronia.co.uk/). You can customise however you want and you get free engraving. Is your not sure on ring size you can also use the free ring size sample. We are waiting for ours to be delivered but so far they seem very good. Reasonably priced too, we had to pay more as we both wanted palladium which is expensive but the other metals were a lot cheaper. Hope this helps ?

I would recommend Etsy, we got our wedding rings from a small uk jeweller there, really nice unique design, white gold and under 800 for both. Smiley smile
