Wedding Rings - I have no idea what to choose

Fairytales19, 3 May, 2015 at 12:18 Posted on Planning 0 8

Hi Everyone,

Our wedding is in September so is fast approaching but I haven't picked my wedding ring yet. The rest of the wedding has been pretty easy to put together but I'm finding this decision very hard. I've tried lots on which to be honest hasn't helped as I love the classic plain platinum band (in 2mm) as it's simple and elegant but I equally love the idea of having diamonds. I've tried one on in a criss cross style which has small diamonds so isn't too overpowering but it's similar to my friends and I'd quite fancy having something different. Last week I tried on another design which I love but it's not traditional at all. It's a very thin band which has small diamonds all the way round. It's very delicate and pretty which is ideal as I have slim fingers and small hands and doens't take away from my engagment ring and the diamonds are small but I don't no if I'm going too far away from the 'norm'... the rest of our wedding is very traditional!

What are you opinions?

My engagement ring is similar to this but the band is a little thinner:

Here are some pictures of the styles I have described

We ordered our wedding rings a few weeks ago. Like you, I thought the wedding ring shouldn't detract or overshadow the engagement ring. I went for the classic plain band as I like its simplicity and elegance. Cost was also a factor as diamonds would have pushed the price up, and we need to keep that budget under control!

Of the diamond ones, I like the second one, the thin band with small diamonds all around, I think it looks classy and elegant and will go with your engagement ring.

I went for an eternity diamond ring for my wedding ring (25 x 0.06ct diamonds) - similar to the second to last design. I am probably going to buy a plain platinum band (2mm) when I want to be more understated.

I would stay away from the pinched ring - I don't think they're as classic as either an eternity ring or plain platinum band.

I've got a plain band. I liked how it set off my engagement ring (which is similar in style to yours).

I think that design is my favourite. It's the only ring I've tried on and really though WOW. It's a good idea to think about getting a plain one too. Maybe I will think about doing that.

That's a good point about the pinched ring, I hadn't thought of that, thanks! x

That's a good choice, the classic option is beautiful. I keep going back to it time and time again.

That's true, the diamonds once are a lot pricier! My fave is the second one too.. It's the one that really got me excited when I tried it on but I keep thinking about the more traditional option! I'm glad you think the diamond one will still go with engagement ring and you think it's classy and elegant Smiley smile x

Hello, i like number 2 ring. it's look sweet and elegant in the same time. it's look simple and expensive, it in the high class ring. but, if you want some thing different, you can change the diamond in number 1 ring with small ball where thats your blood and your husband blood inside. thats very deep meaning and unique. or maybe you can search online to get a special design for your special ring. Just to add, my H has since bought me an eternity ring v.similar to your second pic. So I've got a plain wedding ring, engagement ring and then eternity ring. If my wedding ring had been diamond it would be too much I think

That's one thing that is really playing on my mind. As my hands are so small it would definitely be too much to have a diamond eternity ring too in my opinion. I'd wear it on my other hand but it would be nice to have the choice. Eek I just don't know what to do!
