Wedding songs!!

My Oh has insisted that I have the traditional wedding March to enter...I dont rate it personally but its his day too.

Haven't thought about wedding breakfast music yet but we're having stuck on you by Lionel Richie as our first dance.

No idea..I had to speak to registrar last week to get more time to send our form back.

We've been working on this for a couple of weeks and still haven't come to a decision!

So far, we have traditional Welsh love songs being sung by FSIL while we sign the register and our song, Do I Wanna Know by the Arctic Monkeys for our first dance. The rest we are yet to choose, although, I quite like a bit of 40s swing, so we may head that way as H2B enjoys it too.

We haven't completely made our minds up yet but think I will be walking in to Paradise Stars by Noah & The Whale, FD possibly to be either Crack The Shutters by Snow Patrol or I Need Something by Newton Faulkner.

We had a variety of songs on during the wedding breakfast, songs we liked that weren't suitable we got the vitamin string quartet version

We had to hand ours choices in last week so there's no more changing our minds! We're having:

Our first dance will be "Kiss me" by Sixpence none the richer. I'm also going to dance with my dad and for that we're having Stereophonics "Step on my old size nines" because it reminds me of when I was little I used to stand on his feet and he'd walk me round the room. Lol, that sounds a bit corny but I couldn't think of anything else and I love the song!

Music is just too hard!!! We aren't really music people, we're more film geeks….

Music has never really played a big role in my life, so this task is just too tough!

I think we are going to have Eva Cassidy (You take my breath away, and songbird) somewhere in there, and something 'generic' wedding.

I'd better get thinking, its just over 10 weeks till the big day, and apparently we have to confirm with the registrars 8weeks before the date!

(Also readings, just bah!)

We're massive movie buffs (and I'm a bit of a geek in general) so our music is all actually from film soundtracks. Some of it was intentional, others less so. It's just music we love from movies we love.

Had loads of fun choosing our music and just posted our CD off to the registry office this weekend! we're having:

We once played 'I wanna grow old with you' from The Wedding Singer as a first dance. It was the couples favourite film and it was just fantastic. Go with what you both love!

My BIL is a pianist so will be playing the ceremony music for us. He's just going to do a selection of recognisable stuff before the ceremony and we're yet to decide on anything specific for signing the register will probably include the Beethoven Sonata that's the tune use for Billy Joel's This Night.

Every time I sit and try to find my "walk down the isle" song I find myself welling up! I know I'm going to be a emotional wreck by the time our big day arrives.

I'd like to walk down the isle to Etta James At Last. Our first dance will be to Newton Faulkner Dream Catch Me (that's our special song) That's all I can manage at the minute :0)

We didn't bother with music during the wedding breakfast in the end as our coordinator pointed out that everyone would be chatting and wouldn't hear it anyway and she was right.

I'm trying to edit the Pearlfishers' Duet for my entrance. Signing the register, we're going to ask my friend to sing Too Good to be True and one other song of her choosing. Then we're going to exit to the Tetris theme. We haven't chosen a first dance yet. I rather like Not Even the King, by Alicia Keys, but my OH thinks it's far too early to be talking dances yet.

For during the meal, if we have music it's probably going to be ocarina music or the London Philharmonic Orchestra's versions of videogame themes.

I'm walking into the Piano Guys, A Thousand Years - I get all emotional every time I hear it (granted, I am playing it rather a lot!), and we've got another of their covers for us to walk out to, although to be honest I love so much of their stuff I could fit it in at any opportunity!

We're big music people though, music is on in our house all the time, so making playlists for the wedding breakfast, whilst people arrive, have drinks etc will be probably the biggest part of our planning - finding the dress, venue, suits etc will prove to have been a doddle compared to whittling down our i-tunes libraries!!

First dance will be OH's choice - no pressure, then!!

Hi, we are having a string quartet and have picked "From this moment" Shania Twain as I walk in, for signing the register "I’m Yours" Jason Mraz, The Beatles "All You Need Is Love" and Stevie Wonder: "Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I’m Yours", and for leaving we are having The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba.

It's funny because some of those songs i wouldn't have picked if they were being sung, but on the string quartet i think they sound lovely.
