Signing register etc- ELO Mr Blue Sky, Here comes the Sun, REM Shiny Happy People
All played on an acoustic guitar
Our first dance is the Beach Boys- God Only Knows
We have made a playlist for wedding breakfast consisting of The Carpenters, The Beatles, The Police, Bob Marley and David Grey. We are quite keen to make sure it's our music and think the DJ may be horrified when he gets our request list saying no Abba or oops upside your head please!!!!
Exit: (Your Love Is Lifting Me) Higher & Higher by Jackie Wilson.
Struggling with 1st dance as we have a few songs that are important to us. We will probably go for two and one will either be Beneath Your Beautiful by Emeli Sande as that was what we were slow dancing to when he proposed or Thank You by Led Zeppelin as we both love it and the lyrics are really meaningful to both of us.
Register: All you need is love - The Beatles, Crazy little thing called Love - Queen, It must be love - Madness (We had 3 as we used a different room for registering, so had to include us leaving and returning and having a few photos too)
The only ones that we are 100% on at the moment are 'Kiss me' by Sixpence none the richer for our first dance, and Truly, Madly, Deeply by Savage Garden for some point during the ceremony but we've not decided where yet.
Others that we're considering are It must be love by Madness, Baby baby by Amy Grant and Just the way you are by Bruno Mars but considering OH's music collection we'll probably have plenty more to think about over the next year!
This is something I've given a HECK of a lot of thought to; and I'm no nearer to a conclusion!
At the moment, the plan is:
My entrance- 'Head over Heels' by Tears for Fears (but only cos it's from Donnie Darko and I love that sequence where it pans down the corridor of the school to that song) OR 'The Lady is a Tramp'
Signing the register- 'Carry on My Wayward Son' by Kansas / "She said Yes" by the Wedding Band (Mumford & Sons- but we prob won't be allowed this as it has the word 'God' in it...?)
Exit song- .....NO idea...
First dance- We're not having one! (phew...dodged that bullet)
I've found this THE hardest part of the planning; my fiance and I are both really into music, but we don't have 'a' song...there are all different songs we like and it depends which mood we're in, etc. etc. plus we want to be a *little* bit unique...IT'S SO HARD! ?
The first dance song is going to kill me off! We keep changing our minds, all the songs that are 'ours' are totally wrong lyrically. I am a huge Biffy Clyro fan and would have loved 'many of horror' but I just can't with the opening lines.
I like Jamiroquai and love the song "Blow your mind" but not sure where to incorporate it I would actually love it as the first dance but I don't think I will get OH buy in!! It is tunage love it..
I've got the fabulous violinist and pianist Simon Jordan playing for me, so he's doing some on violin and some on the piano.Entrance - Canon by Pachelbel (sp?) Signing the register - One Day Like This by Elbow, followed by Better Together Exit - Rule the World by Take That (currently)
We've only really picked the first dance song - Johnnycake Mathis 'Wonderful, wonderful'. I don't think anyone at the wedding will know it...but we don't care!
