Also, from personal experience, before you go to visit the venue it is worth deciding between you and your partner what you both want for the day. Do you know roughly numbers or what style you are after? Then you can discuss this with them, rather than them explaining how the venue can be used for a very formal celebration for 200 people and actually you are looking for a more intimate and laid back affair with only 50 people?

I agree with the other poster here. The first question the venue will ask is how many people so have a good idea of numbers for day and night. Also an idea on what kind of decorations you would want, what deposits they require, how the booking works, is catering included or do you have to book separately, if so, do they have a preferred supplier list?

We also asked questions about access as my fiance's mum is quite elderly so we wanted to check she would be ok.
