So my partner & I searched for venues over lockdown & finally arranged viewings as it’s started to ease. We plan to get married in October this year. We’ve fallen in love with a venue, got it reserved, booked the registrars. At the end of April they said they’d send a contract & we’d put down a proportion of the money, however nothing as arrived. Accepted they were busy with rearranged weddings but still nothing.
I’ve rang, left two messages & emailed & no reply. I got my friend to call them & it rang & went to answerphone. Within 2 hrs they rang her back & asked about her wedding enquiry & were clearly surprised when I asked why I hadn’t heard off them. They assured me there wasn’t an issue & contracts would be out first thing Monday this week.
I’ve still not received anything other than an email inviting us to a date in September to go through our final arrangements. I’m not happy and wonder if they’re about to go ‘bump’ my sister agrees. My partner suggested they’re just busy. Thoughts and any similar experiences please as this just doesn’t feel right?! Should we just go for another venue if we can get one as it doesn’t sit right?
