Wedding Website

MrsBradley2B, 27 March, 2011 at 15:48 Posted on Planning 0 13

Instead of sending out lots of information with our invites, I like the idea of our guests being able to visit a website to find out the details of our day and to be able to RSVP online. I just wondered if anyone had created a wedding website and if so if anyone could recommend a website where I could set this up?

Yes! We have one which we've built ourselves. It's been very, very popular and saved us a fortune on printing up accommodation cards and RSVP cards - plus it's been really really fun.

If you want to nosey to get some inspiration, PM me and I'll give you the link.

We have one but it only elaborates on what was in the invites, rather than replacing them - we know that quite a few of our invitees are elderly and don't even know that you can get the internet on computers these days.

If all your guests are net connected then it's a great idea - although the etiquette books say these things should never be done by email, if that's important to you.

A lot of people use Weddingpath but I just wrote ours the old school way, HTML in Notepad...

I tried gettingmarried.co.uk but didn't like it as much as the wedsite one but each to their own. I liked the layout of the wedsite one although there is little you can do to customise it unfortunately.

I tried lots. I found that the best one was weddingpath.co.uk:

    www.weddingpath.co.uk

It allows you to add as many pages as you want, links etc and provides even a RSVP page which also imports into Xcel, and a Wedding Map which shows the guests the location.

Apparently weddingpath is shutting down and a number of brides are reporting that their site has disappeared, so I wouldn't go there, although I don't think you can get onto it anyway.

I use gettingmarried.co.uk and would heartily recommend.

Oh ladies I really hope I've heard wrong and it's just down for maintenance. But I heard rumblings about it a few weeks(/months? think it was weeks) ago, and there was a post about it on another wedding forum today as well. People were saying the weddingpath forums had shut down and their weddingpath tickers weren't working.

Agree it was very naughty of them not to email you, they should email even if it's just going to be down for maintenance but ESPECIALLY if they're going to shut down.

Oh... just went and searched for the thread I remembered, and someone had written a post saying "i emailed wedding path- they are shutting down in the next 6 months!" on 17th February. Sorry Smiley sad

Yeah there's lots about it even when you google it. I am now going to have to spend hours to re-do everything on the new site and most annoying is there were some details there that I have not copied and pasted anywhere!!! I am sooo beyond angry!!!
