Wedding website private pages - help please!

Beth, 10 July, 2023 at 16:17 Posted on Planning 0 8
Hi,
I am trying to create a page on my website which is password protected for some guests who are staying with us at the venue.

I click on private but it doesn’t ask me to put in a password and the page is still viewable for all - can anyone help work this out please?

Me too. I’ve just sent the link to one of my bridesmaids and the page that is password protected isn’t visible but I’ve not been asked to put in a password to set it so I have no idea what the password is to give them. Any idea on how to solve this would be appreciated. I’ve emailed Hitched but haven’t heard back yet.

    Hey Everyone,

So i just figured this out Smiley smile

    Here's the steps:

    1) Go to the edit side of your site

    2) Click "Edit Website" top left

    3) Click "Settings"

    4) Scroll down until you see a "Password" section enable this and set a password

    5) Here's the annoying part if sets your full website to password protected, so what you have to do it go into the "Pages" section of the edit and make all the pages public again and obviously leave the pages you want password protected set to "Private"

    Hope this helps!

Hi All, this is not working for me either. I tried the helpful suggestion above but no matter what I do, the page I want password protected still appears. Any ideas? Maybe the settings have updated again since the last posts.

Hi Beth, It sounds like you need to set the page visibility to "Password Protected" in your website’s settings. Look for an option to add a password and save it.

When we set up our wedding website, we were also worried about keeping certain pages private. Some platforms have decent privacy settings, but I noticed that search engines can still index parts of the site if you’re not careful. We had a page with venue details that we only wanted to share with guests, but somehow, it started showing up in search results.

That got me thinking more about online privacy in general. If you’ve been searching for wedding-related stuff and don’t want those searches following you around (or influencing ads), I found this super handy guide on how to delete recent searches https://setapp.com/how-to/delete-recent-searches. It’s a quick fix that helped me clean up my browsing history!

Branded backpacks offer style and practicality for any occasion. Wedding website private pages – help please! Many couples want exclusive sections for guests, requiring secure login or password protection. Just like a well-designed backpack keeps essentials organized, a good website structure ensures privacy. Whether planning a wedding or a promotional campaign, details matter.
