Wedding websites?

Clare, 21 April, 2022 at 12:14 Posted on Planning 0 15

Hi all

Has anyone made a wedding website and if so, do you have any recommendations? (something simple ideally / pre-made templates). I've seen hitched has one obviously haha but just curious if anyone has recommendations for something that was easy to make and send to guests.

I'm getting lots of random questions from guests and thought it might be easier to consolidate all the info into one website instead of over emails (although emails are easier..). Everyone in the States seems to use Zola as a wedding website but I'm not sure what the UK equivalent might be - none of my friends who got married used one, they just corresponded over email/text/etc.

Thanks!

I've used Say I Do (which I think is Australian!) which I've been really pleased with.

We have used the Hitched one and has been great. We have added pages with info on and the order of the dat etc and has worked really well and had great feedback from our guests on how easy it is to use. I guess it is about howm much you put in to it as to how good it is, you are welcome to have a look at ours for some inspo

    Welcome - Ryan & Charlotte (hitched.co.uk)

I used The Knot, I see a lot of people complaining about the hitched website on here tbh! I chose the knot because it allows you to use a form to collect addresses, which was key for us. You can also email and text guests directly from the website if they’ve included those details. You can do all the normal stuff like adding FAQs etc too. You can add a lot of different types of pages on there, which I like!
A couple of friends who’ve got married recently used With Joy which seems good too but can’t say how it is on the admin side, only as a guest.

Yes you can do that, we didn't but I think it is in the settings on the site itself. If you can't find it post a message in the feedback to Hitched group and normally onenof the Hitched team reply quite quickly

Yes! Just Google ‘the knot password’ and you should see the help site which explains how to do it Smiley smile

Also, idk if I’ve ever seen hitched reply to one of the ‘feedback to hitched’ posts. I see lots of helpful brides and grooms answering questions, but no one ‘official’ as far as I have seen…

We have been using withjoy and have found it really good and user friendly. Another couple we know have also used it so I've seen it from both sides as administrator and guest and would recommend it.

Thank you for sharing! I have had a nosy and love how you have kept things clear and simple but been considerate of what your guests will want to know.

We used the hitched one as it was free and we didn't want to pay for a website! It's not the best website in the world but does the job! I'm also using the planning section of hitched to tick stuff off and create table plans so it's simpler for me to have everything in one place.

You are welcome, I am a planner so try to give as much info as possible but dont want to overload! We have also sent the order of the day on email to them seperatly to give timings of when things will happen. Have fun planning your website!

    I’m also using gettingmarried

It’s brilliant, I’ve set up my full wedding website using there templates. It’s easy to use, and already laid out for you. There is question and answer boxes for people which we’ve used one for song suggestions. I’ve been giving a code for every guest which I’ll have printed on the invite somewhere and it records it all for you including mealOptions etc

We’ve used With Joy as one friend used The Knot and another used Hitched and they both had complaints.

We’ve found it super easy to set up, it’s password protected so only people with access to the password can find it and the designs are really nice.

I also would recommend withjoy and was very easy to use. I wanted a password to view our website, and couldn't see how to do it on hitched. I use hitched for the forums and checklist though!

I like the designs on withjoy and it's very easy to keep track re guests and make updates :-)
