Wedding wine - how much to buy and red/white split

Hi,

We're buying all the wine for our wedding breakfast and i'm just trying to work out quantities. I've estimated 3 glasses per person, based on 6 glasses from 1 bottle.

Then 2 glasses of prosecco per person for the toast.

Does this seem right?

Also, what split of red and white wine are others doing? Ours is a June wedding so thinking/hoping it will be hot and people will choose white over red.

Good question! We need to start thinking about this too.

Our caterers advised us to provide 1/2 a bottle of wine per person, so we were going to put 3 bottles of each on each table of 10 to be on the safe side (so a 50/50 split between red & white), & then they said one glass of prosecco per person for toasts, & to work to getting 5 glasses from each bottle. Don't know if that helps at all!
