Wedding wobbles

UnionJackDream, 11 September, 2015 at 21:36 Posted on Planning 0 12

Hey ladies,

just wondering if if anyone had major wobbles *tears* even after finding your dream dress and still having 6 months to go?

my dress is gorgeous but the complete opposite to what I wanted so it's just stressing me out whether my groom will love it,

i have aver no bling on my dress at all, so I wanted a statement piece for my hair, also what jewellery to wear... I am thinking these to go with my Union Jack themed wedding.

i love this hairstyle but what could I put in my hair

any advise would be greatly appreciated, especially if anyone else has had stupid worries.

    Hey love,

I'm at 8 months away and haven't had any dress wobbles yet but I'm sure it's perfectly normal. Why are you worried about your dress, you must have picked it for a reason.

The earrings are gorgeous, very regal and would go so well with your theme. I'm sure your groom will love your dress and everything else!

I think we are bound to have wobbles as it's not something we usually wear. I'm always in jeans and a t shirt so I regularly think mine is way too much but come the day it won't be and you will look and feel beautiful and he will think so too.

i don't know where your earrings are from but debenhams do some similar I think by jon Richards. They tend to do other matching pieces including combs etc so check out their websites. Debenhams don't always stock the full range I had to go on jon Richards website for some of mine.

I once cried in the work bathroom and texted my now H saying that I wasn't pretty enough to get married. I do realise that makes no sense. I may have been premenstrual at the time. But yes, wobbles are normal. Try to relax.

    Those earrings are gorgeous!

Am I right in thinking you're having a 40s theme? If so, how about a fascinator with a birdcage veil for your hair?

Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt. In fact I'm probably still wearing the t-shirt Smiley winking

I don't really have any advice only to say I totally know how you feel. I've kind of made my peace with it now, 7 weeks before the wedding. I think it helps now I've had my hair and makeup trial and I'm starting to see it all coming together.

If I remember it correctly, your dress is absolutely gorgeous and I really like those earrings. It will all be beautiful!

Thank you for all your lovely comments, sometimes you just need to know your not the only one feeling it.

earrings are from Jon Richards so going to Porto a debenehams soon to see if I can see any.

it is a 40s theme and a birdcage veil would of been perfect except one night watching say yes to the dress, my OH said oh god what is that thing on her hair it's horrible I just burst out laughing and he said oh god did you want one? Not now haha

so need to find some glitz I think.

    thanks again ladies xxx

Have a look online see what matches. I went for the earrings that match my necklace this week but they didn't have them but got them online. At least then you know if they haven't got the whole range.

I've had a wobble about my dress every single day since I ordered it in January! Probably because I didn't get that 'this is the one' feeling, but I was sick of looking and I loved the shop so much that I really wanted to buy a dress from there. I'm not worried about my OH liking it, I'm sure he would like anything I was wearing simply because it's our wedding day. I'm not bothered about anyone else's opinion either, I just want to feel happy in it. I haven't let myself look at any other dresses since ordering it but I did get a glimpse of one in a shop window when I was on the bus that really caught my eye. Too late now though. My parents have paid for the dress so I wouldn't even consider looking for another one. I'm hoping I will fall in love with it once I try it on and it fits properly. The sample was too big for me.

P.s I know what you mean about your birdcage veil. My OH once made a throw away comment about veils which has put me off wearing one. However my mam really wants me to wear one :-/

My other half isn't keen on birdcage veils either and I really wanted one lol. I think they are a bit like marmite. Love me or hate em.

Wobbles are totally normal! If your dress in particular is worrying you, are you able to go back to the shop and try it on again? It's so easy to forget what it's really like when you only get to try it on for such a short time.

That hairstyle is beautiful and really the only person who needs to like any of it is YOU. There are millions of styles of dress, hairstyle and accessories, because everyone has different style. You can't dress for others because it's impossible to suit everyone's taste. Choose what you like and feel good in and wear it with confidence. You'll look fabulous!!

(incidentally, many brides end up with a dress that's the opposite to what they expected - me included, so that's totally normal too!).

I spent a lot of time worrying what my H2B would think of my wedding dress. Then he said to me that it's more about the symbolism than what the actual dress looks likes. A bit like the engagement ring, you're never going to hate it because it is something your OH has chosen and it will look beautiful no matter what. Not sure if that makes any sense, but it really reassured me!
