Weddings for civil partnerships

Hi, this is a bit of a weird question but I'd appreciate your thoughts. If two people (gay or straight) are entering into a civil partnership, is the ceremony they have still called a wedding? Or is the term 'wedding' exclusive to marriages? Many thanks x

My opinion is that you can have a wedding celebration whether you are getting married or having a civil partnership. It's really up to you what you call it. The only distinction I think is that civil partnerships are not marriages.
