Weight loss support? :)

Daniella, 10 November, 2021 at 00:52 Posted on Beauty & Wellbeing 1 21
Hey lovely brides,
So I’m currently back on my health kick, I’m a stone down currently with a lot to go 🤣. Previously lost 3.5 stone but put it all back on in lockdown. I want to shift another 6 stone by next June.

Doing SW/calorie counting and I work out at home.. I currently do an hour and a half on the treadmill a day and just started with weights too which I’ll do 3 days a week to start. Was just wondering if anyone else doing the same wants to start a little support thread?. X

I really need this - I've been procrastinating for months about starting and now I've got a year to go and still haven't started! Count me in!

Hey lovely! It can seem really daunting to start. I lost 3.5 stone a couple years back but put it all back on and more 🤣. I weighed Wednesday before coming to Ireland with my Fiancé, i last weighted before then on Monday (as started a new routine so wanted fresh results) and I lost 3lb in those few days! We got this, You’ll smash it! Xx

    Hi lovely.
Are you doing any calorie counting? Or a plan like SlimmingWorld?
Working out, even if it’s just walking is fab! Just stick to clean eating, calorie spray rather than cooking in oil etc. I find I lose the most when I’m following SlimmingWorld alongside my exercise.Last week I lost 4lb and I had also been out for a lovely meal with my Fiancé and had a big box of chocolates he bought us as we were away but the rest of the time I just did SW. 10lb should be pretty quick to get off 😄

Well done for your losses so far ladies, it hs hard but well worth it. The main thing is not to beat yourself up and don't go so hard it is not sustainable. I did SW for a bit and learned about clean eating and macro's through a PT, I rarely do Cardio, mainly weights, strength and resistance training 4 times a week, has taken 2.5 years but am 7 stone down and maintain as I now eat sensibly, 3 ltrs of water a day, still have treats but in moderation. I do 2 fast days a week as well and mainly eat Keto style, so low carb and high healthy fats which is awesome as I can still have Avocados, Cheese and Bacon! I also take Hydra Slim daily, which is all natural but also helps with bloating and boosts metabolism and makes me feel much less sluggish. 114 days to the wedding and a stone to go, we got this ladies! Pic below for some Thinspiration, which is stuck on my fridge Smiley laugh ! Good luck ladies!

Hi ladies! Sorry, been so busy haha.
Dee, I love SlimmingWorld. I got to just about 2 stone down, then put a few lbs back on over Christmas haha, wasn’t sticking to plan for Christmas, life’s too short for that 😂. Only just gone back on plan yesterday, I should be back to my pre Christmas loss weight after a week. How much have you gotten off this time? 100 days!! Ahh that’s so close, are you excited?? X

Charlotte, you have absolutely smashed that! Well done you, you look amazing! I absolutely love how I feel when I’m losing weight, I feel awful after I’ve had a treat lol doesn’t even feel worth it.. doesn’t stop the odd slip though 😂. X

    Hi

As a personal trainer i cannot stress enough....relax!

The only thing i would say is helpful of slimming world is that they teach you to cook yourself, the rest bugs me. The importance of scales infuriates me, as scales do not measure fat , water or muscle, just the object on it.

You do not have to go hell for leather on cardio but i would recommend 3 times a week intergrate weights with your cardio e,g kettlebell swings, dumbbell snatches, barbell clean presses, and slam balls ( my fave espesh if you have had a bad day). Then the other days focus on just walking for up to an hour somewhere that may have a slight incline involved.

Next, a calorie deficit, you can work this out online by going to a calorie deficit calculator ( i use the healthline one) and go with the slow weight loss ( i did this and lost 4 stone in 10 months) if you go too low with your calories you end up in starvation mode , so you want your body to feel its getting what it needs to then let go of the fat its been using to keep you alive, and ensure you burn 300-500 cals more than what your calculator tells you to eat and you are on your way to losing fat. It doesnt matter when you eat aslong as you eat the calories you have set yourself.

    Hope this helps

    x

Hey, thank you! I have actually been sticking to solely calorie counting the last few weeks now. I hadn’t really wrapped my head around it before and found SlimmingWorld to be my old comfort habit, but I wanted more control of my weight loss and not 7lb one week and a gain the next 😂. Now I’ve applied myself to understanding and focusing on a calorie deficit I can simply just focus on that instead of the toxic mindset of the food groups. Thinking you can’t eat cereal and bread in the same day is actually crazy but I never truly realised until now lol.
I’m 2st 2lb down now in total. The last 3 weeks I’ve dropped 2lb a week and I’ve eaten whatever the hell I wanted in my calories, it’s much more enjoyable. I was just stubborn before and brainwashed by SlimmingWorld to be honest 😂😂. Thank you for the tips! Xx

I hate the pressure ladies put on themselves to slim down for their weddings, you are all beautiful and your other half's love you as they want to marry you x
Agree with above comments about getting rid of the scales as they are not great for your mental health and often when you build muscle the scales say you are heavier.
Yes feel good and be healthy but not put this pressure on yourself and stay fabulous x
I get married in less than 3 months and I am curvy and not bothered with any diet (I do work out because I enjoy it)

I’m currently doing intermittent fasting but really need to work on an exercise routine that works for me. I don’t have any spare space, don’t own any gym equipment and walking doesn’t cut it for me as I’ve always walked far with my dog so it doesn’t do much.

    Hi.

I'm currently size 16. Ideally I'd like to get into a size 12 dress but 14 would be OK too. I'm only 5ft tall so not very tall at all! I need to lose about 4 stones to get to size 12 or 2 stones to get to size 14. I joined Noom a couple of months ago and lost just over half a stone but have put back on a few lbs when I stopped using the app. I wanted to lose weight anyway even before I started planning the wedding. So a couple of weeks ago I started jogging but have only done this twice so far but it's a start. I'm going back on the Noom app to count calories and read the tips for weight loss and weigh in everyday.

Good luck to all brides and especially to those who are on a weight loss journey. We'll smash this!

Well done Gemma. How long did it take you to lose 2.5 stones. I keep yoyo-ing at the moment and not really losing anything. I think I need to start calorie counting too.

I started just after the Jubilee Bank holiday weekend and hit 2.5 stone just around the time the Queen passed away so roughly around 3 and half months. But I'd been messing about up until then. I'm so deadline orientated 🙈 I just wanted to be able to breathe in my off the peg wedding dress 😂

You've done so well. It's an inspiration. I'd like to lose about 3 stones. I have about 6 months to do this in as I will need to do a dress fitting a couple of months before the wedding.
