We're getting married but not engaged..

Wildberry, 28 October, 2021 at 15:42 Posted on Etiquette and Advice 0 3
We have only told close family as its going to be a tiny wedding.
How do we say we're getting married but not officially engaged to wider people? I hope that makes sense, I guess it means we are engaged but not doing the proposal 😂.
My parents didn't get engaged ethier just decided to get married.

Congratulations! That’s lovely. Like you say you don’t need to get engaged my friends are getting married and skipping the engagement. I know I can’t speak myself about not being engaged and getting married but my friend has just said to people why get engaged when we know we want to get married and it saves money on another ring.

If you're planning on getting married, then you're engaged! It just means you're not buying a ring or doing a big engagement announcement/party. I would just tell people you are planning on getting married in a small, intimate ceremony (so they don't expect to be invited). Or wait until it's done and then tell them!
