What are everyone's first dance songs?

We're having Metallica's "Nothing else matters" but the S&M version - so its not too heavy.

We're having Delicate by Damien Rice....wanted something different from the norm and we both love that song! x

I think we have noe decided on boyzone i love the way you love me not 100 per cent yet thought we like the words x

Thats very cute! This is 'our' song so nothing else would have felt right. Everybody says you cant have it cause its not a first dance song...but it means alot so it is!

Ok, so this has been a big topic between me and oh. We have our song 'KCI and Jojo - all My life', but we love 'Michael Buble -Everything'. But OH has decided that we should have 'Michael Bolton When A man loves a woman'. I LOVE this song but don't know, dont wana pick the wrong song!!!

Love it, but love "Every Day I Love you" by Boyzone more! I like the bit at the end where Ronan sings "If I ask would you say yes?" Cant get more wedding-y than that!!

That said, we are having The Ramones "Baby I Love You", but will be finishing the night with a sensible slow dance to "Every Day I Love You". x

We've decided on Flight of the Concords - Most beautiful girl in the room, but i'm starting to have wobbles its defo more humour than soppy.

We're going for Sixpence Non The Richer 'Kiss Me'...our reception is in gorgeous converted barns and we're having our first dance out in the candle lit courtyard with acoustic singer playing the song...it says

"Kiss me beneath the milky twilight, lead me out on the moonlit floor, lift your open hand, strike up the band, and make the fireflies dance, silver moon's sparkling, so kiss me"s

Seems quite appropriate and should be lovely...as long as it doesn't rain that is!!

and hoobastanks the reason is possibly the closest thing o/h and i have to an 'our song' we've only decided against it because we thought some of the lyrics were a bit off for a first dance.

"i never meant to do that thing to you" and then the second verse "i'm sorry that i heard you, its something I must live with every day, and all that pain I put you through" Not really relevent in our cases.

As we are both children of the 90's we have also decided to go with kiss me by sixpence none the richer, the whimsy of the song appeals to both of us.

We're being greedy & having 2 1st songs. We've had a dance choreographed for the song 'All I want is you' from th Juno soundtrack that is 1 of our many songs but the chorus is: All I want is you, will you be my bride, take me by my hand and stand by my side' We're having the last part of that engraved inside our rings.

After we finish that our band will start & play the slowy 'Rule the World' by Take That (quite a popular 1 on here I see) which is from our favourite film Stardust (Our tables are gonna be named after films).

Can't wait, not long, just hope we remember the dance steps & that neither I or H2B step on or fall over my dress!!

O well we arent 100% sure of that 1 yet! I think we might be having wild mountain thyme. I really wanted it an entrance music to the church, but OH isnt too sure of that idea. Then my brother suggested it as a first dance piece! And I am kind of lliking that idea! Will need to get on the discussing that with the OH now tho! We're not really into slushy songs that much and OH suggested Buck Rogers by Feeder the other day or maybe Rock and Roll Queen by the subways - we don't have a song and we're always singing those 2 songs together in the car! Not sure what the lyrics mean to the first one, but 'I think we're gonna make it' and 'bought a brand new car' sums up us (he's always buying new cars!!) he he

If we can find it anywhere in time to download we're going to have Seal's new song "Secret" - the words are just perfect and I have always loved his voice! Otherwise I think we'll have to stick with our original choice of Damien Rice "Delicate".

I also love the Juno theme....words are perfectly fitting, just wasn't too sure how we would dance to this!! xx
