What are/did you do on the night before your wedding?

GRosbergen, 13 December, 2008 at 06:34 Posted on Planning 0 18

I was just wondering what you did on the night before your wedding, or what you are planning to do?

I'm going to be at my parents house with my sister (only bridesmaid) as I have flown in from Dubai to Holland for my wedding. I want to do a pamper night as a surprise to say thank you to my mum who has orginised so much for my wedding. I planned on manicures, face masks and watching Love Actually. (I'm getting married on 23 December, so the film suits the date.

What did you do/ what have you got planned?

H2B and I are going out for a meal with all of our friends at a local italian restaurant, then I'm staying over at my wedding venue with my bridesmaids and he'll be going back to our house!

The pamper night sounds like a lovely idea!

We are getting married where I am from in Scotland so will have lots of friends and family arriving (we live in Cheshire), so the caterer for the wedding are doing a buffet for us at my parents house. Also a good chance for the scottish/english families to meet.

Then the BM's are staying with me and I will give them their pressies. Hopefully will get an earlyish night, but can see me getting no sleep!

Are you getting married 23rd Dec this year - wow only 10 days to go then!!!!

I just stayed in with my mum and 3 BMs, a pizza and mama mia (pirate copy that didnt work!!). We were all knackered after running around all day so went to bed quite early. I would recommend a `heavy` night the night before the night before-it worked for me-I slept like a log.

We were at our house with my Mum, sister & BIL. We had pizza & pasta for dinner with a bottle of champagne. I woke up early around 6am and had a quick chat with my Mum and sister which was lovely.

Pamper party is a lovely idea but you might want to avoid a face mask in case it affects your skin badly.

OH and I are staying at the hotel we're getting married at the night before the wedding. My CBM is staying in the bridal suite with me, and H2B and BM are staying in another room together.

We're not getting married until 4 o'clock though so we'll have to try and avoid each other all day!

We introduced theparents to each other as it was the first time they'd met - H's live in South Africa. Went for a lovely meal and I was very disappointed that I still had my appetite and ate like a horse! ?

That sounds like a really lovely idea though as Champagne as already said I would avoid the face masques as it's great to have facials leading up to the wedding to clear your skin but if you put on facemarks the night before you could either end up with a reaction or more commonly break out in pimples as the masques draw them out. I think if you go with something like manicure and pedicures it would be great :-) I love the film Love Actually!! Now one of my top Christmas films!! I hope that you have a wonderful wedding day!!! :-)

My h2b will be going to stay at his mum and dads (his mum would have a fit if she thought he wasn't!) I wil be staying in our house as I will have to walk/see to the dog before heading to the hotel to get ready, will prob go to my dads the day before for dinner with family but just have a chilled evening on my own before wedding unless I can convince bridesmaids(mates not sisters) to come over for a bit Smiley smile

We had a lovely evening - went to the venue to get things sorted with my parents, brother & his girlfriend, H's parents and brothers and partners, best men and bridesmaids, then all went back to my parents' house for a meal. It was lovely for all the main people to get to meet and spend time together before the actual day.

Thanks for all your reactions! Just come back to read them. After wedding and Christmas. We did have a lovely evening together. And the day it self was brilliant. Shame it's all over now!

My Mum and i went and had our nails done and then went for a Thai. It was lovely spending it just with my Mum the night before.

Then i had a phone call from my H asking me to drop the Wii round to the hotel they were at ?. They went to bed at 3.30am apparently so that was a great idea.

I went to a Wet Wet Wet concert!! got in at 1.30 am and work up on our wedding day at 7 so was pretty tired!

Had booked the concert ages in advance and the only date the church and hall were available for wedding was the day after so decided to go fo it. It worked really well actually cos it stopped me panicking about the whole thing.

H had an evening in with his folks, a couple of drinks and a decent meal.

I think I'll be staying in with my bridesmaids and watching a DVD and having a take-away. I think I'll be knackered anyway as doubt I'll sleep much the night before because of the excitement! Pampering sounds lovely....might do a bit of that too!
