What colour combo?

Expensivepurplebridesmaid50886, 27 August, 2020 at 10:31 Posted on Planning 0 4
Hi guys!

Looking for some ideas on a colour scheme and would really appreciate any advice!
We’re getting married next June in a barn so the wedding is kind of rustic boho vibes. My partner loves vibrant bold colours and I love soft delicate colours like pinks and lilacs. We’ve got our bridesmaid dresses sorted (not 100% sure on the colour but we can work with it!). We’ve gone for a mix of sage green and champagne dresses. I thought this was be a nice neutral colour palette to start with but it’s actually quite hard to think of what colour flowers to put with them!!
Does anyone have any suggestions? White and green flowers are the obvious answer and a back up choice at the moment but we kind of want to bring in some colours to make it more summery.
Thanks in advance ?

Best bet is to do a search on good old Pinterest or even something like paint samples a lot of decorating sites show you colours that compliment each other.

We're having a September wedding also in a barn, i've picked two main colours & then a couple of others to compliment them.

I would add in a bold colour if this is what your partner likes, sage green & champagne are quite neutral & fits your choice of delicate colours. A bright fuschia would compliment the colours quite well plus that would help with flower choices.

At the end of the day it's all down to personal preference.

I think with sage and champagne your best bets are dusty pinks and rose gold

Purples look good with sage, but you would probably want your neutral to be grey rather than champagne:

Have you picked a florist yet? It might be worth asking for advice from them.

When we were sorting our colour scheme we went to B&Q and got a load of the paint sample cards to help us.

We spent an evening putting the cards out in various combinations until we hit on one we liked; our (very loose) theme is Vintage Romance, so we went with a palette of soft muted colours, no one dominant one, although the 2 adult BMs are wearing dusty rose dresses.

I also spoke to our florist about seasonally available flowers in that palette, and because our scheme was quite relaxed, she said there was plenty of choice.

I think that if you are not fixed on one particular colour, you have more options, and this will keep your costs down somewhat. If you do decide on a vibrant or unusual colour, it might be best to research which flowers in that shade would be available at your time of year, and see whether this works for you.
