What colour shoes with navy blue dress?

10 November, 2012 at 18:30 Posted on Planning 1 24

Evening all!

Fresh from booking the honeymoon today I'm in wedding planning mood and having a think about the bridesmaid shoes! We've gone for navy blue dresses (image below - apologies if huge!) and we're going for pale pink and cream or white alongside it (flowers, decorations etc); but I'm a bit stuck for shoes! They wore black ones when trying them on, but I can't decide if we should go for black or something else? Opinions appreciated ?

    Definitely not black.

I think navy is great as it goes with loads of colours.

Ivory is nice, as are nude shoes*...

*not condoning the style of either in this pic

    Or how about gold...

I was going to say silver, it goes lovely with navy! Failing that a warm rose gold? It's kinda pinky so would tie in with the flowers! Xx

This is the same colour as my bridesmaid dresses except ours are long, we are having pale pink, peach & lemon flowers in our bouquets!

We are having nude shoes. We haven't bought them yet but tried the dress on with a pair in the shop and they looked lovely - plus they can wear them again after the wedding!

You could go for navy shoes, or even silver,

    Hope that helps

    Hi Darcy 831

I'm having navy for my bridesmaids too, but as they are all different shapes I'm letting them have free rein on the style - just has to be knee length and navy!

We are having yellow and cream flowers, the flower girl is wearing a yellow and cream dress and my H2B is wearing his number 1 dress (UK army)

i'm getting VERY Excited now, only 193 days to go haha x

    Not black.

My BM's had ivory but that's because all but one were young, if I had older bridesmaids I'd go for nude or silver. That way they could wear them again too.

My BM's had navy dresses and wore navy shoes of their choice. My SD wore ivory ballet shoes with hers.

I have lots of navy clothes and would wear nude with Navy if I were going out....hope that helps.

Hi I'm having navy bridesmaid dresses - same length as yours - with pale pink and cream roses. My flower girls are wearing ivory dresses. They are all wearing ivory shoes. Looks lovely with the navy! ?

I love this deep colour of navy, it really pops in photographs up against white walls etc. Shoes....sparkly.....I had a bride last week with a fab pair of heels from New Look. Looked really slick!

Black shoes are the traditional option, but brown or tan shoes would also look good with a navy blue dress.

Congratulations on booking your honeymoon! For the bridesmaid shoes to go with your navy blue dresses, I suggest considering nude or metallic options, as these colors complement navy blue well. Women's dresses paired with nude or metallic shoes are versatile and can be worn with different colored dresses in the future, making them a practical choice.

Alternatively, you could choose shoes that match the color of the dress or add a pop of color that coordinates with your pink and cream/white color scheme.
