Have you got an idea yet of what sort of dress you want? I would look into dress shops and book an appointment! I bought a dress before I had a date booked as I was too excited, haha.

You could decide on a colour scheme/theme if you haven't already?

You are more ahead than me! We have booked our venue for May 2024 and so far I have only booked hair and make-up! We have shortlisted 3 photographers who are all currently available but I just don't know how to decide! I'm sure they'd all do an amazing job!? I was thinking of waiting until Feb/March and then booking an appointment at a couple of bridal shops for the dress. That gives over a year before the wedding. One shop told me all new designs will be in by April. I really can't decide on a colour theme! I just love pink but my bridesmaids aren't keen! ;-)

    THANK YOU!

Wedding Dress shop appointment has been booked just to kickstart the search as i thought i knew what i wanted but everytime i look on pinterest and see other stunning dresses i think my style could change so i've got that next on my list!!! Smiley heart

Colour scheme/theme wise i think i'm certain of, thinking of a very light dove grey/silver.

    THANK YOU!

Alot of bookings have come about so quickly due to their availability and family recommendations so i felt because there are not many in the location i'm getting married i had to secure before they get booked up.

I personally would just choose a photographer based on their profiles so which photographers work and style are you swaying towards most? Its not always about the price, you'be just got to think would you love to have a photo like that sort of thing?

I'm exactly the same in regards to dress shopping, i get a little anxious thinking if i find the perfect dress right away what if i loose weight, put it on, change my mind ~ i'm a over thinker like that.

And colour scheme ~ its a hard one cause although you may love pink your bridal party will have to wear that colour on your day so just take that into consideration or open the discussion upto them with what they recommend and what would work best with your venue, style etc. Smiley flower

When we were searching for photographers I used Instagram - obviously looked at their official accounts but also followed links to the profiles of the couples they photographed to see more photos (if they were open to the public). We found a beautiful set of photos that had been taken at our venue, so we went with that photographer because we knew he’d be able to work well with both us and our venue!

I would say you have plenty of time, so spend some time putting together some Pinterest boards to help make decisions further along the line - things like flowers, bridesmaid dresses, table centres etc.

We found that we did loads of booking at the start, then took a few months where we just enjoyed researching ideas, and now we’re fully immersed in the final details and it’s so much easier with months of Pinterest pins to refer to!

    I am August 2024 also!

I have found getting deposits all paid for all the big things like flowers, cakes, music/DJ, photographer etc, registrars, are the essential at this stage.
Then I am now just going into details of what I want for each, and getting really clear. So when you come to talk to the suppliers 6 months prior to the wedding you know exactly what you want.
Dress and rings is next on my list now aha! Dresses take up to 4 to 5 months to be ordered in pending no delays.

Congratulations on your upcoming August wedding! Destination weddings are so romantic. With all your key vendors booked, the next step is to pick your wedding dress. For a beach wedding, a blue wedding dress is absolutely stunning and pairs perfectly with the ocean and sand. Check out https://www.azazie.com/all/wedding-dresses — they have a great selection of blue gowns.
