What do you do to cheer yourself up?

kezzybabe, 5 November, 2008 at 19:24 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 15

Just curious really as ive had the crappiest day and without really thinking what i was doing or why,i came in from work and mooched for a while then sat down at my pc and put my earphones in and tortured all my fave songs in a VERY loud voice.

It was really theraputic and i feel tons better now never realised music had that effect on me before now!!!!

So what do you do to cheer yourself up??

Drink wine, listen to music, treat myself-even for something small like a nice lipstick or body lotion-although if I am really down it's usually clothes! research/book breaks away-I live for short breaks/holidays.....the anticipation of them. Cuddle up to H and watch a film, buy a glossy magazine, pamper myself. quite a few things I suppose!

I baby-talk to my dog in a high-pitched voice because it makes her face go all curious and her head twists around as she tries to understand me. Guaranteed to make me laugh. Or I just hug her. And then there's shopping - that's always sure to cheer me up.

I check out the internet for celebrity lookalike agencies - the 'lookalikes' always have me in stitches. And I also scan facebook for people I went to school with who look older and fatter than I do ?

Same as you - sing loudly and beautifully (cough cough), alright, murder my favourite songs.

Also have a really good long whinge and accuse my husband of some small domestic transgression. Using my kitchen counters as a dumping ground etc.

    drink wine.

I try to find something to have a really good giggle about.

Tonight it was this (from a "rate your doctor" website":

    1. "He put his wanger in my ear. I'm not a psychiatric case. He did it twice. NO COMPUNCTION. AT ALL"

    2. "Dr Trouton really does live up to his name. I attended his clinic with a longstanding complex heart condition that other doctors had failed to treat. He wore a codpiece shaped like the head of a fish, telling me that he 'had his trout on'. My palpitations have never come back."

    ?

I have also been looking at formal cat portraits

I have lots of things that cheer me up. I like to come in and get in my PJs, a good glass of wine and some chocolate. Oh and a chinese takeaway would be good.

I also do the thing with the music, I love to sing really loud and really bad.

This is precisely why chocolate was invented. Get myself a nice bar of my favourite chocolate, have a bath, get into my pjs and then veg out in front of the TV with the remote all to myself.

Usually stick either some music that i love in the cd player and read with perhaps some chocolate.

If not the music then put a film on that i like and eat chocolate.

Either way, chocolate usually makes me feel good
