What do you do when your favourite hairdresser leaves?

?

More of a rhetorical question really. I guess the salon won't tell me where he's gone will he?

I've booked with another stylist in the same place but all nervous about it. He was the first one I found in ages that I really trusted.

Not much point to this other than a long-shot plea: if you're in a London salon and come across a gay Irish guy called Gary, late 30s-ish (probably doesn't narrow it down much!) who used to work in a salon in the City, pleeeeeease tell me where he is!

Mine recently left and they did tell me where she had gone (without me even asking!). I took the opportunity to change to a new salon closer to home though.

I know what you mean - changing stylist can be very daunting. My OH had no idea what I was taking about when I mentioned it to him ?

    Panic.

seriously, i feel your pain. after a few dud experiences in edinburgh i found the best stylist ever and went to her religiously for four years. she did my wedding hair and all my BMs and was totally fab.

when we moved i was worried about finding another, and the worries were totally founded ?. two cuts and one terrible blowdry later i'm no nearer to finding anyone as good. i fecking hate it, tbh, it's supposed to be a nice experience and instead i come out close to tears.

gah. sorry, long ramble there. i guess just try a few places / stylists and keep your fingers crossed. or ask for recs? although i once had a rec from a girl at work which turned out to be shyte, so am wary of them now.

Maybe they will tell me then...hmm... ?

My H wouldn't get it either - he's happy to have me cut his hair (I'm not a hairdresser).

I've been lucky in that I've always (well, apart from once or twice!) had good hair dressers. Although I've only had 4 in about 12 years..

When we first moved across to the UK, mum was trying to find a hairdresser. Once she walked past a hairdressers in her local town, saw a woman walk out that she thought had a nice haircut, so went straight into the hair dressers, asked who had just done said lady's hair, and said she wanted an appt with the same guy! ?

There must be something in the air, my stylist has left to! I tried to make an appointment with someone else at the salon but the receptionist got really shirty with me so I didn't bother.

I've now booked another salon in my local town. I;m going to sound really evil but I've booked for my eldest SD to have a cut so I can see how well they do it before booking myself in ?

I've gone to the same hairdresser for donkeys years, she is utterly fab and did all the wedding hair and I love her. She has moved about in recent years, and, tbh, I have just moved with her as it were.

However she has recently opened her own salon and won loads of awards and evryfink and getting appointments requires about 3 months notice. I just rang her and asked who else in the salan she thought would do a good job, and she was bang on with her recommendation.

I'm sure the salon would tell you where lovely gary has gone.

I sort of wish they had been shirty with me but they were really nice so felt like it would be rude not to make an appointment (may regret my politeness come tomorrow afternoon!).

Good plan for your SD, not evil at all, especially if she's getting it paid for!?
