What does groom do with top hat during ceremony?

I think the groom just leaves his on his chair. Or they could put them on a table at the back of the room.

Why can't one wear a top hat inside?

My hubby to be will be wearing one, granted we are getting married outside.... unless it rains... then it will be inside

I thought it was wedding etiquette not to wear top hats indoors, they are to be carried under the arm but obviously he can't do that whilst reading vows etc ha ha

I don't think it really matters where it goes but I have taken several nice photographs of them lined up in a row on chairs/pews.

They are normally left by the front door of the church, well that's what I have seen at these weddings.
