Chair covers. I think they look tacky and I hate that couples feel like they have to buy them when really its the venue that needs to buy prettier chairs.
Photographers who are really bossy. judging by the ones at weddings I've been to that would be nearly all of them.
When they leave you waiting around for ages without anything to eat or anywhere to sit for a couple of hours after the ceremony.
Couples who book stuff up years in advance. Or get engaged but say they 'aren't ready to get married yet' *not talking about couples who get engaged but CAN'T get married straight away*
Oh Trickers, I'm glad you're not a guest at my wedding - you're so hard to please ?
CD music for the ceremony, those wedding dresses that have a see-through bodice, huge tiara's, acrylic nails (although i will probably succumb as my nails are w@nk), swing bands/crooners, tribute acts, fireworks (I've always found fireworks displays extremely boring)
Turning round to look at the top of the aisle as the bride makes her entrance and thinking 'Who the XXXX is that?' as she's so made up you don't recognise her.
Not being given clear drinking instructions - is there wine provided? If not, let people know and they can go to the bar before they sit down.
Lots of 'in jokes' during speeches.
Organised speech sweepstakes. If people want to do them, let them, no need for you to organise it!
Organised fun - some entertainment is fabulous but what I like most is being able to catch up with my friends and family. Ditto quizzes.
This happened at my SIL wedding - I would have been furious! But she said that as they were such good friends of theirs it made the day even more special! (Gagging noise from me here - I would have pulled a massive strop!)
It's only a bit of fun, Flow. I guarantee that all of us will have at least one thing on the lists above. Ultimately it doesn't matter what others think, as long as you both like them. Let's have some fun though! I'm sure no one will take it in the wrong way.
Ooh, that's a good one! I also hate balloons, coloured wedding dresses, buffets when there are over 80-100 guests (doesn't work!), karaoke (haven't seen this yet), brides smoking, bride, groom or guests completely trollied. Sure there are more!
We got engaged on Valentines Day last year (after six weeks together) - and are getting married in April this year - so hopefully I've managed to slip under the tack radar with that one
