What DON'T you like at weddings?

I cant stand children at weddings....i know thats gona annoy a lot of ppl but i just dont think children under 10 should be there......theyre just annoying.

Pmsl Mrsmcgorm - my mother loves the slosh and will no doubt do it at my wedding! we're welsh so not just a scottish thing!

Brides who feel the need to buy two wedding dresses and change for the evening do!

balloons (again)

live bands (you just cant dance so easily cause they screw with the music!)

annoying DJ's who don't understand they're hired to play music not do stand up!

church weddings for non religious people (i would have felt like a hypocrite)

very dark colour schemes - (purple cake etc.)

very light colour schemes (venue can look washed out if not careful)

long speeches

guests who wear white!

Page boys (what is the point)

People who leave at 10 o clock so the dance floor is deserted by 10.30

Jeans!

Bridesmaids who change into jeans!

photographers who dont bother to tell the bride the sl*tty pose really isn't very flattering or classy!!!

My OH said we r having it he likes it so does his mum, so I secretly phoned the band lol!!

Hymms that nobody knows so nobody sings in the church

endless thank yous and gift giving at wedding breakfast

sweet buffets, I really don't understand it, cake buffet maybe

expensive cash bars

2 red and 2 white wines on tables and no one drinks red so hardly any wine between 8-10 people

brides with a cigarette

fancy dress for photos

guys on the pull before the wedding has even started

Grrrrrr guests wearing white/cream/ivory really makes me angry- I think I would actually comment if someone does that at mine!

I'm getting married in a church and have not even been baptised- my OH is catholic and an active one at that so I had to do it for him, plus he has let me choose almost everything else! I don't feel like a hypocrite, it means a lot to him.

Was gutted when i had to go out tonight- i was commenting up to page 8 lol

Sammy_wheeler-- No uniforms????Seriously?? If my OH had access to a uniform I'd have him in it!! And I'm really excited that half of my family are in the Royal Navy and are wearing their uniforms to the ceremony! I can't wait, I think it looks awesome on the photos.

Nah the men in uniform has never done it for me lol. Although my sil2b loves firemen lol. i prefer my hubby2be in suits- he looks so amazing in one

Kind of agree with you there, don't mind a man in uniform, but men in nice suits look so much hotter! Although, well built men look better than skinny men in suits IMO!

Lottery tickets and/or scratch cards as favours - Just screams chav at me!

Haha brilliant topic! My top 'hates' would be: jeans (love 'em normally, but at a wedding? So wrong.), poetry, balloons, smoking, animals, weird coloured or bright white wedding dresses, tiaras, sweetie tables, cupcakes (fairy cakes yes, cupcakes no), wedding shoes (I wouldn't wear White satin shoes normally, so why on earth would I want to on my wedding day??). Um, that'll do for now. There's probably more though...

One or two things listed which we're having, which I'm cool with. Be madly dull if all weddings where the same.

Here's my dislikes:

Scruffy looking groom / best man etc - please shave properly (unless you have a beard, in which case keep it neat) and brush your hair! Your top button should be fastened and your tie or whatever should be in the correct place, not two inches lower than your collar.

Bride or Groom singing at their reception. I don't care how good a voice you've got or think you have, it looks big-headed. My SIL2B did this at her wedding and, yes her voice is good, it just made me cringe.

Couples writing their own vows - ugh, never heard one yet that wasn't vomit-inducing.

Long-winded speeches, 'in jokes' or near-the-knuckle jokes - this is a wedding, not a lads night out.

Endless gift-giving - if the speeches are before the meal, and we have to sit there forever while the cousin of counsin's gets a bunch of flowers.

I'm sure there's more!

If I inflicted a "no kids" rule I would lose a bridesmaid, and good number of people from my guest list - could use it as a cost saving measure ?
