What is the best thing for cracked lips?

Puss, 1 February, 2009 at 16:48 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 17

I have a horrid cold and as a result I have horrid dry lips that are driving me around the bend and back! I bought some Nivea SOS stuff yesterday and it has done cluck all, I have been slathering on vaseline too and again nada. I want nice moisturised lips back, I would pout but it hurts ?.

Thanks!

Do you have any sudocream or similar - I've even resorted to Germolene before. Not one to lick off - but seemed to help.

I think Blisteze can be used for chapped lips as well as as for coldsores. I would also say to drink plenty of water. When I haven't been drinking enough I find my lips get very dry.

I've found the Lush lip balms to be really good.

Am drinking lots too... will go and buy blisteze tomorrow I think. I have germolene for tonight, no sudocreme in (despite the two ankle biters).

    Thank you!

I like All Talk by Temple Spa. My lips get horribly dry and cracked and this is amazing stuff.

Another vote for 8 hour cream. YOu can get special lip balm but if they are cracked, the normal balm will probably be best. I use it on lips, elbows and heals!

When my lips were really severely cracked due to dehydration after a 24 hour flight, the pharmacist recommended Carmex (in the little yellow pot) and it's brilliant. I keep it with me all the time now.

Blistex in the little pot (or Carmex in pot but Blistex tastes nicer). I can't be without them - I have hundreds dotted around hte house (mostly under the sofa thanks to the cats)

Blistex here too. Better (marginally) than carmex, and the 8 hr cream.

Ours are under the sofa / around the house because of the baby though, cat doesn't seem bothered

    Thanks all Smiley smile

Now I know I have some 8hr stuff around somewhere... last saw it when Mr P was applying it liberaly to his nose during last cold (this from the man who doesn't make a fuss ?). I shall go on a hunt and if I can't find that I shall be purchasing blisteze at the first available opportunity.
